1.5 x 10^-9 billion years later, I have made some progress! I used some spray foam insulation to mount a piece of wood in the rock:
There's a bunch of other screws sticking out about 1" on the opposite side of that wood piece, and I'm hoping that will provide enough anchor in the foam to keep it there.

I will be burying those cables as soon as I can get my gardener to dig a trench for my conduit.
I'm also going to route out a channel in that 4x4 post to bury the connectors and vertical cabling, and then cover with some sort of painted metal strip.

Also, in a related PSA, if the nozzle clogs on your old can of spray foam, just throw it out and buy a new can. Do NOT attempt to drill out the nozzle:

Another PSA: carefully inspect the construction of your mailbox post before drilling a hole through it. Especially if you built that mailbox post yourself, 12 years ago:

Curious if this location gets a lot sun. Thinking about how hot that switch would get.

How about a real rock? Put a diamond disk on your angle grinder and start cutting. Don't forget your dust mask.

Here it is with some mud on it, and surrounded by some grass. Looks . . . sorta believable.Rub some dirt on it. Maybe in time, a little moss will start growing on it.
I think you should paint your mailbox post and cams black or brown to hide cams a bit more.

Paint a weak solution of yoghurt on the rock and it should start to grow moss / algaeRub some dirt on it. Maybe in time, a little moss will start growing on it.

The rest of my neighborhood has white mailbox posts that all look pretty much like this, so if I changed color it would stand out like a sore thumb!

OMG! Rock-flation is happening. If you click those links, both vendors now charge $62.05. Given that I bought that rock ~2 years ago, it's increased in value 16% per year.
I should have invested everything I had into fake rocks.
But what about y'all? Doesn't anyone else have any fake rocks to share? Or are you all trying to keep them a secret?

Here is my fake rock. It covers the Spectrum electronic box that provides service to my house. Before that, there was an ugly green box at that location. By the way, Spectrum replaced the ugly green box with this fake rock for free. Oh, this picture was taken from one of my PTV security cameras. If you look carefully, you can see the 4 CAT6 cables that feed the 4 IP cameras in the pine tree. I tried to hide them the best I could from the people walking by on the sidewalk.

They cost less than a fake rock, in bulk. I wonder how many hours (and disks) it would take to hollow one out. Any volunteers?
