Hello there. I recently purchased an 8ch nvr with 8 cams. The nvr has an integrated poe switch. Due to the structure of my house I have to use a second poe switch to power my cameras. As a result only one cable will attach to the nvr and that will be the internet cable. My question is simple: Since I will not be using any of the integrated nvr's switch is it possible to add more cameras to the nvr (originally sold as an 8ch). Maybe a firmware update can support that? I will only use wireless cams.

Thanks for your help

No, if the NVR is advertised as 8ch, then that is all the NVR can accommodate in total, no matter how they are attached.

And wireless cams with 24/7 demands of an NVR is a disaster.

These cameras do not buffer like a Netflix does.

And no firmware update will give you more channels.

Thanks for your answers. I guess I will stick with the 8ch nvr for now. Can I post the bundle I purchased here? Need some opinions on this.
