Hi all,

Got one tower about 10 foot tall with 4 cams. It's hardwired to the house with 300 foot of cable. Need to build another tower perhaps 20 foot tall located about 900 foot away. I was thinking of relaying the 2nd tower to 1st tower using airMAX LiteBeams. So .... tower 2 signals --> 5 ghz air signal --> tower 1 --> hardwired to house. Anyone try something like this? Is there a better solution?

What about lightning protection on the 20 foot tower? Any recommendations?

If the tower is connected via PtP wireless nothing to worry about relating to induced voltage via Ethernet cabling.

Regardless, the tower needs to be properly grounded to Earth. Your local codes will dictate the (AWG) wire gauge, wire type, colour, ground plane, and guide wires.

At twenty feet you should consider a lightning arrester whether it be rod / spike. Installing the deionizing whiskers also help in the reduction of a lightning strike.

What ever power source including the camera needs to be connected to the single point grounding system. Along with a properly rated SPD at the camera, PtP wireless, PSE.
