HI all,

Big thanks to the forum for all the info provided. I have my new setup as per spec (I believe).
  • Dual NIC
  • 5442 varifocus
  • BI
  • ZeroTier (no vpn option in router, and restricted router availbility through my ISP that accomodates voip functionality in Aus)
  • Pushover

My question is very basic. I understand that the Dahua IVS sounds on par with BI detection, so I went with this route. I was initially not getting any alerts triggered though and spent time looking through old posts for possible solutions. Then I went back into the camera and set intrusion/tripwire rules for IVS and now I am getting alerts.
Can I confirm that these rules are required for alerts? I've just set large intrusion zones across all my cameras for my testing purposes. I was assuming they were advanced options and that it would have a default 'see anything - trigger alert' option, but I'm now guessing this may be incorrect.

I haven't setup the substream/channels yet, that will be my next task.

Thanks.

Yes, the rules that you create are what defines the triggers for IVS/ONVIF events. Without the rules, nothing is triggered and no ONVIF events generated. Without ONVIF events generated to be picked up by BI, no alerts.
