Hi all
I have dahua nvr 5216 and just added 2x new 8mp HDW3849HP cameras (already have 10x 5mp cams which work no problems with smart illumination) with new version DMSS app.

Problem, I can't seem to configure smart illumination on the 2x new cameras. No IR option or anything, white led is either on or off, I don't even get the illumination config option on the app for these 2 cameras , but I do have the option on all of my other cams?

What am I missing , is there a setting on the NVR that I haven't enabled for these 2x new cams for illumination?

Appreciate any help, I'm going a little mad trying to work this out?

Cheers brains trust
Jeff

You should be making all of those type of changes/settings on the camera interface directly,. not the app, not the NVR.

NVRs and Apps cant keep up with hundreds of models of cameras and all of their features. And its been shown time and time again that if you make settings changes on the NVR or APP, it may or may not synch with the camera and you can lose those next reboot.

Basically if it CAN be done on the camera GUI direct, do it there.

Have you tried updating the firmware on the NVR? Maybe it's not grabbing the settings from the camera being a newer model.

Otherwise as suggested web interface is the best, or if the camera is on the local network add it directly in the app to access the illumination settings.

Thanks for your reply,
I've just logged into the camera via WebGUI and still no option for smart illumination, just day and night, on, off or auto. Updated firmware for camera and still no change, nvr is running latest version, got me stuffed? (Photos of 2x cams via Web gui, one has the option other doesn't??)

It says Smart Illumination right there in the drop down you can change it to IR or whatever you want.

Oh no I think you might have brought the TiOC 1.0 there, they only have the white light not dual illuminators.

This is the one, looking at the downloadable instructions it lists IR mode, but can't even see that, any thoughts?
What about in the cameras web interface, send a screenshot of the model number under settings > information > version I think

Ummm.. can't see model number, I'm logging in via web browser but through NVR , I'm wondering do I need to log into the camera it self IE not thru the NVR web browser?

You should be able to get into the camera itself through the camera section on the NVR, it will open a webpage to the camera.

Or under the cameras section you should be able to see model numbers.

Yeah so it's the original TiOC let's call it 1.0 which only had the white light.

Then there was TiOC 2.0 which added the dual illuminators.

Then TiOC 2.0 V2 which added stuff can't really remember think SMD 4.0.

Be good if Dahua didn't remove EoL products from their website so you can find firmware and manuals but whatever.

I see, so this version doesn't have intelligent illumination (and can't be upgraded ?) Reading the specs it says 'smart illumination' but also says illumination 'on / off - auto - manual',
So not that smart?!?!
But that would explain why there is no 'intelligent illumination' option.

But then why does the white led stay off when 'reset', then when movement detected it turns on, but then stays on ?
I don't understand?

The white light should just come on when it gets dark enough like the other cameras do with IR.

There was no motion light option on those versions as far as I'm aware, if the illumination is set to auto then when it gets to dark for a colour image the white light comes on. That's it.

Was quite troublesome when we started installing these to begin with, no matter how many times we'd explain the white light comes on at night we'd always get the call the next day.

Well that explains that then, that would make sense I suppose, light stays off when dark, not even IR, then when movement or an image is needed it turns on the led and stays on until it's light enough around it and turns off.

Well that's just great! Thought the 8mp would be an upgrade to my 5 mp cams, in the day yes, night not so sure. It's off or it on!
Really appreciate your time mate
