So my Bi ended in July and thought I would get the year update package so I could get out of a Buggy version of Bi into a newer stable version. So I click the upgrade and I get an error? How does one go about getting the update.

So updated to the latest stable version and thought it would fix the issue with 100% but seems that didn't do the trick. So I thought I would look at updating cpAI and was able to get to the website once, Went to look for update it wasn't there gave me a page of something like it isn't here don't look for it lol. Anyway only have Object and LP running and my CPU goes to 100% and now in playback is like slow motion. What version of Bi are people using? The PC isn't the best out there but I don't think it is the worst either..

Found myself in the same spot a few days ago... had a look around on the forum and discovered updates can be found here now...

I went 2.6.5 -> 2.8.0 and today to 2.9.4

I don't know if I was very lucky, but all went very smooth

PS - as to CPU usage, it depends on so many factors, I can't really say. I am running around 17 cameras, most around 3-4MP, with an i7 4790K, with 24GB RAM and a GTX1060 with 6GB. CPU and GPU sit around 20-30% and 10%ish respectively most of the timie

I have that PC about specs as well. Only difference is my 4790K has 32gb ram. It did have 1050Ti changed it out for 1060 or 1660 I can't remember and don't remember how to figure it out using terminal lol seeing I am running Mint on that machine these days.. I will keep trying to get to website. Last time I tried to load it, it never comes up to even try and go to DL page..

Oh yeah I don't have that one anymore gave that one to my son, My Mint machine is a 5820K sorry keep changing things over the years I forget. Brain not as sharp as it was 40+ years ago.. lolScreenshot from 2024-12-02 13-20-17.png

Note that the update function on CPAI 2.6.5 will fail. I had to go to the other URL, the one I posted, where I downloaded 2.8.0 and then installed that.

About your system, I am not familiar with Mint. Mine is running a very barebones Windows 10 with nothing else except BI and CPAI, a few utilities. No Office, no antivirus, etc. CPU is also very dependent on using substreams for the cameras, etc

Understand, Thank you for the info, The PC that I am running Bi on was stand along Bi at the time, I was running CPAI on a second PC but thought it was the cause for the lag so I now run it all on the 10700K with Win11 machine. I guess was kind of a wish with the update to new Stable Bi that it would cure the CPU issue and kind of seems like it is now worse lol. Will get it all sorted out soon. Again thank you for the replies and info..

I had trouble getting CPAI to run after an upgrade, several times. Not slow playback that I remember, but other issues. In every case, only a brand new clean installation of Windows followed by a Clean BI and the stable version of CPAI that was working previously fixed it. It might not be the case in your situation, but that was my experience. It seems BI and CPAI don't play together very well always after CPAI / BI upgrades. To that end, I wish there was more separation. BTW prior to a full clean windows installation I tried everything including check disc with repair and DISM.exe commands. Nothing worked for me this side of taking Windows off. That's why I don't update either of my current versions and won't do until I have some imaging software to cover my back as re-installing Windows then BI and all it's settings is long and painful...
