Camera won't connect

Could someone explain why IP cameras I try to connect to blue Iris that have a onvif password to connect to NVR or other software will not connect to Blue Iris? Blue Iris finds them but will not connect no matter what password I put in. It comes up with RSTP:400 Bad Request. I know they are not top of the line cameras but they should work. Actually the one I have is an Xgody camera that I have had working but once it's disconnected it will not connect again without a bunch of changing and messing around with everything. The other one I just purchased is a Treatlife Prosight PS10 and it does the same thing. I cannot get it to work at all with B.I. either. These are the only cameras I have with these onvif passwords and the only ones I have problems with.
Thank you for any help.

Do the cameras have static IP's in the same subnet as the BI server?
Have you inserted the camera's username and password into BI and clicked on "Find/Inspect"?
Do these cameras have embedded webGUI's that you can log into with a browser?

Yes to both of the first questions. My router that all my cameras connect to is an extension from the main router that is connected to the modem in the house and for some reason I can't see any of my cameras in my browser. All my cameras work fine in B.I. except these that have this onvif password thing for some reason. Also the cameras have no password only an onvif password to connect to NVR or third party software and I put the same one in both options in B.I.

Isn't Blue Iris it's own embedded webGUI?.
No.
BI offers a web server which can be accessed using a browser. The cameras stream to the web server and it will serve the streams to a browser on a PC, smartphone or tablet..

A webGUI is generally embedded in a camera or other network device's firmware (router, Wi-Fi switch, nmanaged switch, etc.) and provided a means of configuring said device using a browser on a PC, smartphone or tablet.

Thank you for your reply. I just can't understand why my other cameras work fine just connected to my router and Blue Iris finds them and they all work fine just like that. But I have two that have this password in the camera app. that says it's for you to be able to connect to a NVR or NVR Software like B.I and no matter what password I use they will not connect even though B.I. finds them in the Find/Inspect option. It makes no sense to me.

Have you confirmed that you have ONVIF enabled? Maybe the issue is that it isn't enabled and so the password you are using for ONVIF isn't working on Bi. Also some devices that work in onvif require onvif as the user name have you tired it with it setup like that.. I don't know the cameras I just have some that require a password for onvif and some that require onvif as the username with the password that is setup for that user?

Yes these passwords in the camera app say this- ONVIF: Integrate with other NVR systems. Then you have to turn it on and set a password. I have checked it with both Advanced port scanner and ODM and they only find the camera once the onvif is turned on. B.I. also finds the camera in the find/inspect but will not connect even with the password . Not sure if having the password in both the username and password have anything to do with it but I have tried it with and without and lots of different ways and still no luck.

Can anyone tell me if this is some ting wrong that I need to fix or what. I have never used this. How do I fix it if need be. All the other ones before this have the green check mark.
I highly suggest that you not post your WAN (public) IP address.

I don't know why I come here for help, I never have gotten a problem solved from this forum.
You could ask for a refund.....:wtf:

Woody, I am sorry that someone here does not have the answer for your problem, we are all volunteers here and do not have all the answers and often not enough time in our life to spend hours trying to help everyone. Sometimes some cameras can not be coaxed into working with BI, especially when it is a camera that other people have no experience with, I suspect that there are many cameras that just will not work!

That's the kind of answers I expect from here!
So in Aug. 2024 in the post below none of the suggestions helped you?

You do realize you were the last post and you said "OK thank everyone for the help. I will change some things and see what happens" but never did report back.

Is that a forum failure? No, in that instance YOU were the failure. Feedback is invaluable.

@Woody70 , Did you try any of the URLs with BI suggested by @Gimmons below in Sept. of 2024? :idk:

I apologize to all. I should have not posted what I did, I'm just very frustrated at this camera. The main thing that really upsets me is I use the exact same settings on it when it did work and it still won't work, it just makes no sense to me at all. Yes I've tried all those URLs. Thanks for all who did try and help me. I'm going to forget this camera and get a better one.

Yes, get a camera OEM'd by a name brand such as Dahua or Hikvision; the Loryta and EmpireTech sold by @EMPIRETECANDY are OEM'd by Dahua.
These cameras will cost more because they offer more and just plain perform better. I don't know about you but at my age and condition right now time is precious and I don't want to waste it monkeying with something that won't work or performs poorly when it DOES sometimes work.
My time is also worth money when I'm moonlighting @ $75 an hour so I don't want to lose $75 trying get a $30 camera to work, then poorly at best.

Steer away from cameras that require you to scan a QR code or enter a UID number into their app to view remotely.
With them you'll likely be using an offshore P2P server ("cloud") and locked into a proprietary protocol that can't be streamed directly to Blue Iris, VLC or any VMS.

I think it's @looney2ns favorite saying and repeated often by @wittaj and other here...."Buy once, cry once".
