The wind was swirling here and there on April 1, 2024 in Lubbock, Texas . . . no joke! Look at the blue canopy go for a ride and land on top of a house in the upper right quadrant of the video.

@StevenFromTexas How did you manage in yesterdays windstorm. I know Canyon is getting all the air time but you are just south of there.
It was NASTY FILTHLY DIRTY BROWN about sixteen hours on March 14, 2025 and just plain FILTHY DIRTY BROWN the rest of the time. Winds were sustained 40 to 50 MPH with higher gusts during the early morning and daylight hours. Some power outages, but not too bad otherwise. A lot of out-of-town school districts cancelled classes for the day due to school buses being easy targets for the winds.

Canyon, Texas turned into a car and truck crash derby worthy of national news. People will drive the speed limit even when they can't see ten feet in front of themselves.

Thursday we were travelling on I-10 West through New Mexico and Arizona. Driving my station and I had to drive three hours with the thing open.45 foot motorhome pulling the RAM pickup. The dam driver's window got stuck open at the CBP checkpoint. I had to drive three hours with the window open and dust, sand, and tumbleweed parts hitting me on the side of my face. At one point I was about to pull off due to low visibility, but it cleared up some.
