IPC-Color4K-X no connection after IP change

I put all of my cameras on a VLAN. I have 8 total cameras right now with a smattering of Reolink, Amcrest, and then 2 of the EmpireTech IPC-Color4K-X cameras. All of the cameras took the IP properly, but only the 2 EmpireTech cameras no longer respond after updating the IP address. The change was a simple network change from a xxx.xxx.111.xxx IP to xxx.xxx.112.xxx IP. The purpose is that I am getting all of my IOT and Security over to their own VLAN to route the traffic as I want, block the internet from some devices, and block to the main network. All routings are in place and working.

The cameras all go into a single POE switch that goes into a more robust Aruba JL686A switch. The port on the JL686A is tagged with the proper VLAN, the routes work to allow me to see the cameras. However - only these are not working :(

@EMPIRETECANDY - Tagged you since I'm sure someone else would otherwise :)

Actually, I doubt anyone would tag Andy as this is an operator error and networking issue and not a camera issue LOL

More than likely you have a duplicate IP or transposed a number either in the IP address or the gateway.

What is the IP address of each camera and each device on that subnet?

Go the command prompt and type in "arp -a" and see if it matches what you wrote down. I suspect these two cameras don't show up. And if they don't, factory reset them and re-establish the proper IP.

You can list the private LAN IP addresses as it does not tell anyone anything - they are the same as everyone else.

The IP address of your service provider for your WAN is what you don't provide...Everything on the inside past the modem is fine to put out.

Everything on the inside, the local LAN will fall under these ranges and you are not telling anyone anything about how to hack your system because these ranges are reserved for the "home side" of the service so every home internally will be within this same range):

10.0.0.0 – 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 – 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 – 192.168.255.255

I verified each camera multiple times before hitting save. These are the only two that did not come back. My IP Addresses are like this:
Front Camera 192.168.112.10Reolink
Garage Camera Inside111.106192.168.112.11Reolink
Garage Camera Front111.26192.168.112.12Amcrest
Yard Camera - Left111.25192.168.112.13Amcrest
Yard Camera - Back111.22192.168.112.14EmpireTech
Yard Camera - Right111.21192.168.112.15EmpireTech
Front Doorbell111.14192.168.112.194Amcrest
Garage Steps111.170192.168.112.16Amcrest

I routed all the traffic, Can I ARP to the 112 network from the 111 network? I am unaware.

I definitely do not (cannot) have a duplicate ID as I am just setting up this network and these are the only IP addresses on that network segment. Additionally, the Chrome tabs are pretty good indicators as well since the cameras I configured automatically send you to the new IP address:

Depending on how you set up the VLAN you may or may not be able to arp from one subnet to another - you may have to pop a computer on that subnet and see what it is.

Did you close out Chrome and retry the IPs?

Did you try a different browser? We have seen Chrome sometimes get weird like this on IP address changes. I forget if you have to add the port number after or change a setting in Chrome or the camera.

AngryIP shows them all except those couple as well:

So - I'll have to get a ladder and pull them down tomorrow to reset.

EDIT: post game in above... I tried 2 different PC's (one real, one VM). Different browsers and also direct from Blue Iris. Nothing shows them, unfortunately on either the old or the new IP address. Not a huge deal, was just curious if there was something particular about these cameras.

Yep, they are lost somewhere.

I have changed the IP on the 4K/X several times with no issues.

The next question would be how are they being powered - did that change? If so maybe the new one isn't powerful enough?

I assume you power cycled the cameras?

If you unplug other cameras do they show up?

Did you have the white LEDs come on at night and if so, are they on?

I would make sure they are receiving power before going up the ladder.

Good points, I will do some more checking. There have been no power changes, but I can certainly climb up to the POE switch and pull, wait 20, and re-plug.

If all else fails, you can see if ConfigTool finds them. If not, a reset might be the best way to start over. When you use ConfigTool to change an IP address, it warns if the address is already in use. Yes, there is a reason I know about that.

I can admit it... It was my mistake. I had forgotten that those are the only 2 cameras I ran all the way back to the switch before my basement walls were completed. The rest are run through a POE switch in the garage. I got up top there and saw all the blinky-blinky saying network was working and wanted to smack myself. I tagged those 2 ports and all is good.

Sorry guys! Back in business ;)
