Right, never thought ld be writing this. But here we are! l've read some really astute stuff in here and would be grateful for pointers.
Sunday night, guests in my Scottish forest cabin had to be escorted off due to an individual taking photos from the dark. The only way they knew this was happening was because his flash went off. Il spare the details but we secured the guests within 20 minutes off site and police arrived 1 hour later with dogs. Obviously he/ she's long gone.
Gradually over the week it's been increasingly irritating me, the trespass and breach of privacy. So l've decided l really want to catch / catch an image of this fruit. Not deter, yet.
The cabin sits in a forest. He / she won't approach from front of cabin due to motion lights or from the west- motion lights. ( eery to think they figured that)
They approached from the south. Behind the cabin. Which is a steep incline of grass- birch trees / juniper. Sparse enough to capture an image/ video of the twitcher from a) camera in a birch tree covering a 30 metre distance from cabin back and up the incline b) camera on cabin roof facing south/ south west. ( seems the better option for height )
Secondly we know he was close- 2-5 metres. As guests were terrified and heard him fall over behind the cabin when flash went off.
So ideally a camera that can catch an identifiable face in the dark, specifically 2-20 metres away with a 180 degree span. Ideally, not light up.
A lot of wildlife will be moving out the back so ideally something that can identify human form.
WiFi would be ideal as l run a 4g router in cabin. No wires would be preference but l can wire it if required.
Grateful for any cam recommendations, or even trail cams.
Forester has mentioned we maybe able to identify where he climbed deer fence / parked. But it would be potentially miles down the road. In 'passing places' on the single track road. Where people sometimes park.
Budget would be £1k for multiple or single camera.
Thanks in advance - to catch a twitcher.
