Hi all,
I've just installed a new 4 camera ip system, all working fine.
The customer wants to return to the old analog system because it has a remote control for menu & camera access.
My question is, is there a way to add ip cameras to an old analog dvr (convertor maybe). No IP ports avaiable.
Retro fit a remote control to the new NVR system.

Many thanks in advanced
Mark

To answer in short No.. If the DVR don't offer any IP channels because it is older and don't support tech then you will need to buy a Metrix converter and the cost for 2 even 4 cameras cost more then most people are willing to pay.. Plus can get used NVR for less most times.. Then the question is if the device that supports that would it convert to the DVRs input because there are many different options from CVBS, CVI, TVI, AHD, SDI and some others that didn't do well..

No, you cannot convert several IP cameras to output to an analog DVR easily or inexpensively.

Are the new IP cameras connected to an NVR? I ask because many if not most NVR's can operate via IR remote control for playback of clips or individual camera selection for live viewing.

Hi, yes the ip cameras are connected to an nvr. Manufacturer doesn't support a remote.
Would an aftermarket remote work maybe?
