I can't stop noticing security cameras wherever I go. We are on vacation and first thing i notice when we get to the hotel is the cameras, especially the Rekor camera on the security shack for parking access. My wife says I need help

From the website, it doesn't look like the Rekor LPR camera is really all that special. It seems like the thing makes it different is the software, which seems to be a subscription service?

None of the LPR cameras are that special and most find that the Z12E can be better tuned to capture better plates.

The only advantage of a true LPR camera is its ability to actually read plates.

But we can do that for free with BI and some of the Dahua cams.

Or use the residential Rekor $10/month with the Z12E

Yeah, it seems the Z12E has more distance and better specs than the Rekor Edge Pro which is $1099

It sure seems I'm in deja vue here. I guess this is but one stage of the "disease".

Yup. I notice them everywhere and If I have time I'll get a closer look to see if I can see what brand it is. Its definitely a disease as I piled up a bunch of LPR cameras over the winter and now don't know which ones to run or how many of them.

They are literally everywhere around central Indiana.

Not that I am a ne'er-do-well, but I have been considering a license plate cover of some sort so that I can't be as easily tracked around town.
In Florida, license plate is considered property of the state and cannot be covered or obstructed in any way, including clear covers, but I see them installed. Of course if I were to install one, I'd get pulled over every time I left my house, its my luck.

Just put a bike rack off the hitch or a cooler on the hitch. Does wonders for cameras

But then it would be obstructed by the cooler or bike rack. It wouldn't be an issue for anyone else, but my truck is bright orange and its my luck to be stopped

So long as you can state you are in your way to known biking area or a marina (or back to home), it’s “temporary installation”. Just know where there’s one in opposite directions from your house. Picking up dry ice at Krogers for the boat trip kinda thing.

Bright orange shouldn’t trigger most live encounters unless you’re doing something else.

But if you’re frequently tagged by photo radar tickets, it’s worth the preventative effort. Those overpass looking down on you are hard to beat, but this gets most.

Some style of licences plate bumper guards can help with the side eye cameras as well.

It is illegal in every state, but to your point, it is rarely enforced.

Heck look how many are running temp paper plates that expired 2 years ago.
