I cannot change the camera IP address and have no idea why. At my other house the default IP address is 192.168.1.1. and I have changed the IP on a few new upgraded cameras I bought for there last month. At my place Im at now its 10.0.0.1 Xfinity is the internet provider.

I can find the camera with the software and it comes up as the default 192.168.1.108 I initialize it and set the password and etc. When I go to change the address it will NOT allow me to change to 10.0.0.100 (or whatever I pick) I made these changes easily at my other place with the default IP gateway as 192.168.1.1 I cant figure out why it will NOT change here. I have to be missing something? Ive done the ipconfig to determine I have the correct information for subnet and default gateway.

Any chance you can change the IP address of the router to the 192.168.1.1 IP address?

If not, then unhook a computer or laptop from the internet and go into ethernet settings and using the IPv4 settings manually change the IP address to 192.168.1.100

Then power up your camera and wait a few minutes.

Then go to a browser and type in 192.168.1.108 (default IP address of Dahua cameras) and you will then access the camera.

Tell it your country and give it a user and password.

Then go to the camera Network settings and change the camera IP address to the range of your system and hit save.

You will then lose the camera connection.

Then reverse the process to put your computer back on your network IP address range.

Next open up the browser and type in the new IP address that you just gave the camera to access it.

OR use the IPconfig Tool, but most of us prefer the above as it is one less program needed and one less chance for the cameras to phone home or for something to get screwed up.

Sounds like you have the software already. If you are using the IPConfig or any other camera tools that will let you make changes to the cameras info.. Try to just change the camera to use DHCP, make sure that the Password is correct for the camera and save/ok and the camera will restart on the LAN and get an IP that might not be the one you want to use but one that your router will let you access on your LAN.. After 30 seconds or a minute hit the refresh on the IPConfig and it should have the IP you can access, Then log in and go to Setup, Network, TCP/IP and change the Ip address from DHCP to static and enter the last digit of the ip you want to run the camera on I would also make sure your DNS is setup with correct IP as well, then save. Your browser should change to the new IP address and once it is done should prompt you to log in again. Then you know your on the Right IP..

Edit: made a video, With a common mistake in it and my guess is that the password isn't correct for the camera in the tool and is failing.. So in my video I make it so it works then I change password to make it fail.. Video

Dahua uses 10.0.0.1 as the internal network for NVR's so it may be written code in the camera firmware to not let that IP be selected as to McFuck the system. ( if you have an NVR)

Plug an Asus Router in the back of the Xfinity box and make your own normal network from a normal ass router.

Thanks everyone. The quick solution was to set the camera to DHCP then reset it. Find it on the network and then change the IP. I still cant figure out why I had to do that step before changing it.
