Perfect will never happen in this PTZ, But it is improved and acceptable
In Andy's defense, he is working with Dahua and I've sent another batch of clips for them to look at. They found obvious problems with the first batch and corrected it in amazingly short time.

I believe ? Dahua has a newer version of this cam on their site. I hope they don't short life it.

in other news, a giant pine tree branch blew down yesterday in a passing storm, destroyed 2 Dragon Fruit trellises and ruined 2 very large pineapple plants in my yard..

The IR filter being knocked down into place.
Switching from day to night and back again should also fix it.
I picked up the PTZ5A4M from Andy and just installed it this weekend - phenomenal value! IQ is impressive. Been following this thread and tweaking settings.
Is there an ETA on this new firmware? I've got my tracking working fairly well, but ~20% of the time seeing issues similar to others on here. Would love to get it better.

What are your avg distances?
Inside of 150 ft with few obstructions it seems to do well.
Andy has sent Dahua some more fines further to review. I suspect we’ll see updated FW in a week or two

Mine is fairly close - maybe that's part of the issue - across street - within 50ft. Some bicycles pass too fast and it zooms in and loses them and people walk behind a small tree and it gets confused.
I've also had several triggers, zoom/move to target, lose target for no reason and return - without any time actually tracking.... like it loses it due to moving and zooming closer....
Yes, i can send you the updated version based on bigredfish's report. Have good improvement, but still need some work on it.
@plop55 i just send you a DM. I think later this week we will have news for some further update on the autotracking.
I have some more files/reviews to send in, just been busy with things that actually matter, unfortunately.
My 3X seems to be having issues with my trash bins, as well. It keeps flagging this one as human and triggering the trip wire.

Related / unrelated - is it just me or does this FW make you stuck in Daytime mode for image profile? No matter what I change to, it revets / doesn't save - only Daytime.
