Getting the hang of it

A few days ago, I replaced Blue Iris with a WizMind NVR. I’m still working on setting up a few things. I don’t want to change or disturb the camera settings, since I already have tripwire alerts recording to the microSD card and everything related to the cameras configured there. With Blue Iris, the camera settings were never affected, but I’ve noticed that with the Dahua NVR, the camera settings can be altered if I make changes on the NVR side. What I want is to set up continuous recording and tripwire alerts on the NVR hard drives while keeping the tripwire alerts working the same way they do on the SD cards. What are the dos and don’ts when setting this up, so I don’t accidentally mess up my camera settings?

My second question is monitor/TV through the NVR the 12MP camera feeds don’t fill the display slots there are black bars on the left and right sides. Is there a way to keep the main stream for recording (so I don’t lose footage quality) but use the sub stream or another setting for live view so the image fits better in the channel slot? Can Dahua NVRs manage this scaling issue in live view (4:3 ratio) for a 12MP camera without affecting recording quality?

NVR is for storing videos as they are, not rescaling before store..
on all NVR interfaces (web, HDMI) you have option to change display ratio scale (right mouse click menu or some icons around viewing area).
you can fill/rescale 4:3 to 16:9..
