Forum technical problems getting bad?

It seems myself and others have noticed recently that when a IPCT member's name is entered in a post, like @TonyR , the full name for all other users who name begins like that pops up, but NOT the name of the the full entry....like "TonyR" or "wittaj" or "bigredfish", so that it can be clicked on to insure it is correct.
Does this anomaly only appear to the user that's making that entry? If so, that's not a good change IMO and would help us if restored as before. Thanks!

Once again, it took 10 minutes to make a post, keep getting spin/spin or "database error"....anyone else?
TBQH, it doesn't have to be a hardware issue. It could simply be the forum database has not been shutdown/restarted/maintained in over two months.
Hard to say exactly what is wrong unless Mike has said before. It does not feel like a hardware issue though and I'd think Mike would have already moved it to different hardware if he thought that would matter. My best guess is buggy forum software. Lots of software is fine and stable during development but can start to crumble when there's mountains of data and concurrent access that is rarely present during testing.

If not the above error message, then it spins/spin until time out.
Sometimes won't even load an emoticon with reasonable speed.....just spins and spins and may finally load after 20-30 seconds.
It's becoming more frequent AND so therefore more annoying, frankly.
We're getting very close to the forum being unusable.

Seems like @Mike makes a lot more money on other ventures that occupy his time.

But at this point he or the elusive @fenderman should let us know what’s really up so we can make alternate arrangements.
