    I don't know if you saw my edit, but the chime has started working. There are 2 current variables, one is the new hardware and one is the latest Hikvision firmware that I flashed onto the doorbell. Regardless, it's working now, so I'm happy. Here's hoping it doesn't die in another 10 months.

    That confirms it's not a doorbell hardware issue, but the firmware. Check connections just in case, use hikvision's firmware and guarding vision app. It must work. If it doesn't, it's something related to your connections.

    ...double check if the chime config on the app is enabled and mechanical chime is selected? On latest ezviz mobile app you can't do it AFTER the first configuration, only during 1st configuration. In that case, install Guarding Vision app, and you'll be able to double-check the chime configuration.

    ...re-adding it. It was actually already selected when that page of the setup loaded, but I made sure to tap mechanical chime anyways, just to make sure. Additionally, I have the Guarding Vision app installed and connected to the doorbell and when I load it, it shows the mechanical chime configured.

    It is, but I wanted you to try ezviz. you did. DId you measure voltages in normal conditions and when pressing the button? We must be sure that the doorbell is activating electrically. If you see nothing, then you should RMA it.

    1. yes, check this post. 2. that depends on the os of your mobile and the mobile app you're using. It seems that problem is only on iphone, on Android + Guarding Vision (and EZVIZ app I think), when it rings you see a preview of the visitor, so you can decide to answer or not.

    Nope, it's the same. If it's enabled in HV app, you'll find it enabled also in GV app. Tried disabling the option and then re-enabling it? Does the chime work if you shorten the wires? First check if the chime's working by itself.

    Install Guarding Vision and in the options you'll find that the chime is disabled. It happens. Re-enable it and you will solve the issue.
