    Alley coverage

Here are my general distance recommendations, but switch out the Dahua 5442 series camera to the equivalent 2MP on the 1/2.8" sensor or equivalent Hikvision works as well. 5442 fixed lens 2.8mm or the 4K/X - anything within 10 feet of camera OR as an overview camera T5449H-ASE-D2 2.8mm fixed...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

Dual camera aurora series = D2 Maybe the price is too high. The sales in the Chinese market were not good, so they stopped selling. Foreign markets are not affected.

    Review-Dahua/EmpireTech new doorbell cam Db6l 5mp

At 60 feet I would go with the 5442-Z4E or higher focal length. Here are my general distance recommendations, but switch out the Dahua 5442 series camera to the equivalent 2MP on the 1/2.8" sensor or equivalent Hikvision works as well. 5442 fixed lens 2.8mm or the 4K/X - anything within 10...

Duhua 4MP TiOC Network Eyeball Camera 2.8mm

None of the active deterrence or TIOC will give you IDENTIFY at those distances as they are 2.8 or 3.6mm lens and the best they could do would be 10-15 feet at night with good light. Now if all you want to do is observe, then yes a 2.8 or 3.6mm is fine. You need to decide if you want to...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

Google translate on your phone, point it at your pc screen. Cell A33 says 'dual camera aurora series' (??) and the green stamp in the middle says 'about to stop' But the model numbers don't seem to match? That screenshot has 4000 series parts whereas andy is selling a T5449H.

PC build for 7x 5MP camera & more

If you have a 3rd gen sitting around, give it a try! A member here is running 18 cams on a 3rd gen just fine. Just do substreams and all the optimizations. Oh you want to IDENTIFY at 12 meters, yeah those reolink focal lengths or any 2.8mm or 3.6mm focal length will suck. Here are my general...

    1/1.2mm Cams for <$200

I am in the process of replacing my HikVision cams. I bought 3 Dahua cams including the IPC-T5442T-ZE and IPC-T5449H-ASE-D2-6mm plus one for license plate readings. I was wondering if there are any better cams in the $200 range that might outperform the IPC-T5442T-ZE. I kind of like the...

    Higher Zoom Than IPC-T5449H-ASE-D2-6mm

I mounted an IPC-T5449H-ASE-D2-6mm (you still see the ladder). It still seems too much of a wide angle, though. My main goal is to record/identify anybody that comes through the side. So it seems something like 9mm to 12mm is appropriate. I don't have much lightening on that particular side...

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

Yes, I do use the command as you noted, changing the end digit between 0 and 1 to switch between day and night modes. The post you quoted was prior to my discovery that the issue I was having was due to my camera admin user password having an @ symbol within it, which won't work in this case, as...

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

What setting are you using on the camera under Conditions -> Profile Management? I'm finding if I set the profile to Full Time->Day, when the BI call sets the profile to night, the camera immediately reverts back to Day b/c of the full time Day setting. I've manually made the call using a curl...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

I One of the knotty details is the dual lens camera might not be a good choice for distance viewing because the convergence of the images from the two lenses has a closer-in sweet spot.

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

Yes, these cams are very good too, use latest new tech, only dahua has this kind of camera right now in the world, just price is higher,no motorized lens compare to the 5442.

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

Most people here seem to recommend the 5442. But (mostly) based on this thread and others it seems the IPC-T5449H-ASE-D2 would be a better choice. So why is the 5442 still recommended so much? The only two things I can think of is price and varifocal capability. Am I missing something?

    IPC-T5442T-ZE

I was reading up on some other stuff and came across the IPC-T5449H-ASE-D2. So I checked this forum. Maybe I should have bought this cam instead of the 5842. Looks pretty impressive compared to the 5442 and probably even more impressive compared to the 5842.

Thank you. I have learned many of your suggestions the hard way. I agree on the 2.8 lens. They are fine indoors in small rooms but, as far as the exterior I think the 4mm lens is a minimum. I will use your suggesting as a starting point for my home system. Thanks again! AR

Welcome, As you have seen, MP isn't everything. You need to chase sensor size, not MP. Many 4MP, 5MP, and 8MP cams are on a 1/2.8" or 1/3" sensor which is great for 2MP, but you need way more light for more MP on that size sensor. You need to identify the areas you want to cover and pick a...

    Camera Mount Thoughts

    Camera recommendations please

A 2x Zoom PTZ will not pick up plates at 230 feet. And a camera cannot pickup faces and plates. You have to set the camera up specifically to pick up plates. Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

No problem LOL. I wanted to make sure you fully understood what you were asking and how that would be problematic with this camera. You certainly have more than enough light here to run the 4K/X without the LED lights. You could probably run 1/200 shutter at night without a problem. Try to...

    Experience Identifying vs Deterring

IR picks up bugs as well. The older style was notorious for collecting spider webs all over your image and it triggering all night. Not so much with the new design. The IR bounces off of bugs much more easier than white light too LOL. And rain as well. The T5449H-ASE-D2 2.8mm fixed lens...

    Camera System/NVR Setup Recommendations

Welcome. Good thing you found this site BEFORE you went the reolink route! These are all budget cams for those chasing MP over quality. You would be better off with an even cheaper 2MP camera... If you want low light performance, these cameras are all on the wrong MP/sensor ratio. You need...
