I also thought the same. Looks like it may not support full duplex. Single mode / single fiber converter. Gonna try it .

HELP -1600 ft over single mode fiber, 1 single conductor. SC connectors on the fiber

Looks like I can get a pair of media convertors that use a single conductor of single mode fiber accomodating the SC -UPC (blue) connector that can xmit several miles over the single mode fiber using only 1 conductor. Hopefully it will not be slow. I'd like to get a full gig between the two...

HELP -1600 ft over single mode fiber, 1 single conductor. SC connectors on the fiber

Looks like only 1 single mode conductor is available for me to connect my poe switches. Probably need a media converter? SFP ports on switch are empty and I'm not sure about using a sfp transceiver due to them needing LC connectors? ( the fibre has sc connector) Anyone have experience with a...

That's some good info. Something I may need to look back at. Thanks! Edit to add... we tried one at each end of the coax runs to replace a DVR with an NVR for a customer that wanted 8mp cameras to replace his analog system. I sugested to the company owner I was working for we shoud try them...

pushing an IP 4K camera.. We tried these on a home upgrade. It seemed if you use more the two cameras using them the video lagged greatly. Maybe it was our inability to configure it correctly?

No adapter ive seen tried has ever worked properly. But have seen DRV with bnc and 4k active deterance cameras advertized by Lorex.....LINK 3840 × 2160 not sure of the frame rate, but if Lorex make some i thought Dahua or someone else may also make them

Anyone tested a 4K camera over siamese coax?

I've seen some advertized. I know about chasing pixel dust. But I've reciently seen (i think) cameras up to 8mp over coax. Even the rg59 that many homes have already in place. Would like anyones real world observation on such a camera/system. Thanks.

Plug and play NVR - is there such a thing?

I have two licenses for BI 4 & 5 I play with it when i can. I have a knockoff hikvision at my home. The simplisity of a plug and play is all i need. I have a quality home alarm system. That is 1st before cameras. Reolink has just started AI with their consumer grade stuff. They sell 4mm...

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

I was discussing this with an IT mgr that has Lorex in about 14 stores. We kinda agreed if u want more pay the price for the extra. Not a great resolution, but we both agreed it may be the best way. After all, the physical installation at a large facility, say 64 cameras or more is to install...

was about to pull trigger on a Reolink setup then I saw this forum.......

Tyheir best system advertises 25 FPS in daytime. No mention of what happens in low light. Maybe you could find out what it did in low ligt, but you'd probably be very unsatisfied and wonder why advertise 25fps in Daylight, but nothing about low light. Ihave a customer right now that wants me...

was about to pull trigger on a Reolink setup then I saw this forum.......

Reolink would do themselves a favor if they upgraded their cmos and the stuf talked about above. They have newer AI systems and are very user friendly. I personally wish they would offer higher end cameras. If they did, the low budget consumer grade systems would be worth it as long as you...

Keep the coax or replace it?

He just wants to upgrade. I'm not really sure why. If i had to guess it would be he and another business owner is trying to convience me to go out on my own, rather than working for a company neither one of them likes. That is my geuss. And I would probably replace the coax because I think it...

24 port switch, unmanaged for cameras only 300w / who has the best? budget 300.00

Keep the coax or replace it?

Customer has a lake house with about 9 cameras. They are 1080/2mp on a 16 port pentabrid xvr (dahua). I didn't run the coax and it may be easy to replace. He has money but doesn't like to spend it, so my cost to him will be a bit more if i replace all the hardware, including the cameras. He...

24 port switch, unmanaged for cameras only 300w / who has the best? budget 300.00

I think the spec sheet for that nvr shows you only have a 10/100 nic, so don't chase a phantom thinking you can push 1gig through that port. If you want a bit of help on your switch /camera deployment draw a sketch on how each cable is connected and what it's for.

24 port switch, unmanaged for cameras only 300w / who has the best? budget 300.00

Something many may already know, some of the switches priortize the 1st few ports when it come to power. If a switch was on the edge of it's total POE budget, it will deem the 1st few ports more important and cut power to the cameras on say port 15&16. I think most of us try not to overload...

24 port switch, unmanaged for cameras only 300w / who has the best? budget 300.00

Some switch manufacturs quote frame rate, but leave out the size of the frames. The price difference of the switches with gig ports, not just the uplink ports require a much higher backplane speed for not much more money than one with the same number of ports @10/100
