HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

Does the UDM have teleport? That's a zero config vpn setup. If you haven't already, make sure you block inter vlan traffic in your network (because it's not blocked by default, thus kind of defeating the purpose of using the vlans in the first place) and then add a rule to allow traffic from...

HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

Just make a port group and a traffic rule in your udm to allow your camera vlan out to the internet on port 123.

[SOLVED] Hikvision NVR Won't Recognize Camera Using Ubiquiti Nanostations

Is ubiquiti still doing that bullshit? I thought they'd stopped by now.

Cameras trying to connect to old NVR address

So after doing absolutely nothing about this because I haven't had time, one of the cameras has finally figured out the old NVR address no longer exists and has stopped trying to reach it. The other camera still tries every 5 mins.

[SOLVED] Hikvision NVR Won't Recognize Camera Using Ubiquiti Nanostations

Have you tried running the loco from the NVR without the injector? The Poe in the NVR might actually be able to power it already.

They should be able to negotiate between then who is doing what with regards to power but not necessarily in a way that does what you want.

old SmartPSS (v2.003) cannot connect to Dahua NVR starting today, but SmartPSS lite can.

I find reviewing video to be clunky and not as easy to zero in on specific times as in the non lite version. That's my only real issue with it. Beyond that it's fine.

Which would be fine if it actually worked properly.

Can someone show me the law that says dahua must provide you with any software at all, let alone specific software products to access your nvr?

Suggestions for a PoE switch for home network and surveillance systems?

If you're planning to VPN in you're gonna need a router that supports vlans otherwise it can get you to the switch but I don't think it's gonna get you into the vlan.

If they are cutting it off they may also phase it out rather than cut everyone off at once?

old SmartPSS (v2.003) cannot connect to Dahua NVR starting today, but SmartPSS lite can.

They seem pretty keen on us not using SmartPSS so if you're using it with a p2p account i would say it's entirely plausible that they have crippled it. SmartPSS Lite is rubbish. In particular when reviewing captures, which is really the entire point of using such software, so to not be able to...

Suggestions for a PoE switch for home network and surveillance systems?

I have one of these. It's brilliant. VPN access via teleport is zero config and just works. Amazingly cheap for what it can do. If the router doesn't support vlan, how will it manage the different IP addressing?

Annke Firmware to Hikvision Firmware: HOW TO

That's a pretty shit experience in my opinion. I told them that changing the day/night switch to auto removes the option to adjust the gain setting (but still allows to adjust exposure). I also asked them if there was a firmware that allowed setting a range for exposure. They told me there was...

Cameras trying to connect to old NVR address

Mainly because apart from the log entries clogging up my logs both cameras are working perfectly fine. Fucking cameras. They're like printers. Been around for literally decades and they still can't get them to work properly.

Correct sequence to enable bridge mode on Dahue NVR to enable use with Unifi Protect?

I have two nvrs and until earlier today their IP addresses were 192.168.1.6 and 192.168.1.108. They are now 192.168.60.6 and 192.168.60.108. Correct sequence to enable bridge mode on Dahue NVR to enable use with Unifi Protect?

I've never used p2p on a camera. Only via the NVR. The cameras can get their time sync from the NVR. And yes. Email notifications direct from the camera wouldn't work.

Correct sequence to enable bridge mode on Dahue NVR to enable use with Unifi Protect?

On my uniarch NVR the cameras plugged into the Poe ports could not reach the internet. I'm certain of it but I no longer use the Poe ports on that NVR at all so I can't confirm it. On my dahua nvr I have only ever used the Poe ports in bridge mode so I couldn't say how they function.

Correct sequence to enable bridge mode on Dahue NVR to enable use with Unifi Protect?

The method you have suggested is exactly how you need to do it. Change the IP addresses on all of the cameras and then set the nvr switch to bridge mode. I don't have unifi protect but I have the exact same dahua nvr as you and I have it set in bridge mode just like you are wanting to do and my...
