Fixed My New PTZ5A4Mx25's sloppy installation. How should I Fix this Better?

I found these while I was ordering the punch-down splice... Clearly not outdoor rated but they look really slick and could be boxed or sleeved I'm curious if any of you are familiar with them? VCELINK Tool-Free RJ45 Coupler Shielded, Tool Less Ethernet Cable Extender PoE+ for Cat7/Cat6a/Cat6...

Fixed My New PTZ5A4Mx25's sloppy installation. How should I Fix this Better?

Some interesting replies. gathering info ... Not sure the PFA120 adds much except about in inch of depth. I guess the approved method would be the PFA120 plus the PFA 150 pole mount (with different clamps). I think the punch-down splice seen above is pretty cool. I'd probably lean toward using...

Fixed My New PTZ5A4Mx25's sloppy installation. How should I Fix this Better?

Apparently that's the ONLY option, at least in my recent searching. I am hoping that someone offers something more... rugged(?) Also, the wire used in the camera's pigtail is STRANDED and looks like to be maybe 26ga. I don't think any version of punch-down block is likely to work.

Fixed My New PTZ5A4Mx25's sloppy installation. How should I Fix this Better?

What's the best approach to replace the camera's female connection? I'm mulling over making a thorough solder-heat shrink-fully twisted and sleeved splice to add a twenty-foot lead to it so that testing can be done without aerial equipment and no other connection hardware to deal with up top...

Fixed My New PTZ5A4Mx25's sloppy installation. How should I Fix this Better?

Put up the new cam on my antenna mast recently, using a rented manlift and in too big a hurry. The connection used the included "weather-tight" RJ45 sleeve, but no junction box was used. Because of the mast mount, I'm trying to avoid the added weight and stand-off distance that a proper pole...

3D Printing Dual Camera Mount for Pairing Z12's

ooof! My mistake; I had confused this thread with some other discussion elsewhere and had convinced myself that you had experienced a spaghetti fail or similar while printing this piece. I see now that I was wrong, Carry on! .

Thanks for the breakdown. Curious if you calculated the cost of the failed print?

3D Printing Dual Camera Mount for Pairing Z12's

Some printing software produces a record of the amount of filament used in the print by length or weight and that info could be used to see the exact cost.... Just spitballing, I 'd guess that's maybe two of bucks of filament. @guykuo might have that info.

    Slip 'n Spin

Every year when these topics come up i see so many folks suggest that if only they had four-wheel drive, yada yada yada. I make it a point to mention that ALL of the cars they see off in the median or at the bottom of the hill.....those cars had "all wheel brakes" yet look where they are. I'm...

This X1C has some of those features built in to it (it should for the price, right?) It will detect and shut down on spaghetti or on first layer fail, and push-notify through the app and has a camera and time-lapse and other handy stuff. You can send a job to it remotely, which is cool...

As would be expected, the PTZ has quit again. So, it looks like it will be intermittent until warmer temps prevail.

3D Printing Dual Camera Mount for Pairing Z12's

You clean the plate and print it again! That's the beauty of 3d printing! It's similar to digital photography in that there's relatively little cost to make another or even to make mistakes. Prints that take a day or more seem like a big deal, but they aren't because most of those hours, you're...

Could be. We've been having high winds for a week or more, now it has calmed as the cold air settles in. Hopefully it will remain working at least until warmer weather.

I wish I understood the mechanism, but I'm NOT Complaining! The PTZ, after having replaced/tested/everything I could from the ground and getting rid of the temporary connections, the spool, 385' of cable and going straight to the switch.... Still didn't work. I went to bed frustrated and trying...

How to enable Native Internet Explorer in Windows 11 to access your IP cams.

I have not done this yet (my IE is still working) but i'm saving it! One question, when it's created in Notepad and then saved, do I need to tell it to where to save?

Yessir, 568b everywhere. I've made a point to watch the Max POE indicator LED on the switch and it doesn't even blink. Also neither the data stream nor the PoE light on the individual port will illuminate at all. Various ports, all three switches. Switching any other cam to the same port (any...

The switches are these: I THINK they are suited for this duty but not certain. I've been having some aggravation with the cable termination and this tester. The tester cont tests were showing open or crossed lines (again i'm only testing from one end) so I got the Fluke and ohmed everything...

All good points. I have now jacked the mast to full height in order to determine cable length. I have cut it at 115' and relieved it of 385' of burden. Yes, it IS all copper solid conductor 24AWG. What I would like to ask someone who has this or a similar PTZ and ALSO has one of these cable...

    Blue Iris Screen Flashing

Yes, it's around 24' with the mast collapsed. I jacked the mast another ten feet or so to improve the view. Of course, I believed that I was super-careful with the cable termination and install because I wanted to avoid this situation. The aerial hookup was intended to be permanent. The other...

Probably unrelated: After a heavy storm event (actually twelve hours later) the new ptz5a4m stopped connecting. Problem is... To install it I had to rent a man-lift... so now to troubleshoot it, I'll have to use a really tall ladder... after the new Winter temps subside. REALLY not looking...

    Blue Iris Screen Flashing

Yes, to no apparent effect. The flashing exhibited only in BI, Running a browser or running nothing but notepad, there are no flashes or weirdness. New Amcrest AD410 doorbell Cam Review

One of the reasons I have been considering the ReoLink is precisely because it's PoE and I could go directly to the same switches on the "isolated" cam network which would be straightforward.... but using a wifi unit such as this AD410 is where it becomes necessary to connect it to the wifi and...
