Blue Iris 4.3.7.3 and Xfinity 150/15 Megabit with 63 Cameras brings the CPU to 100%

Re: Blue Iris 4.3.7.3 and Xfinity 150/15 Megabit with 63 Cameras brings the CPU to 10 Just guessing here... if the BI configuration is not changing when you move the PC, BI must be consuming extra resources trying to fetch the camera streams. I would suspect either the modem or the ISP is...

Viewing IP Cam over Blueiris from a different network using dynamic dns service

Some DSL providers have data caps too, 1 camera may not push you over the limit but it's worth while looking into.

    BI and NAS

Admittedly I am using a much older version of blue iris than most so my suggestion may not be correct but it's worth a shot. It sounds like there was an installation issue with BI or Windows. It appears that BI calls a standard Windows Explorer prompt provided by Microsoft. 1. Try to re-import...

    BI and NAS

Did you import the BI registry settings or was this a fresh install and configure? If this was an import, go to options and verify the "Storage" path is correct.

Do I need Blue Iris for these scenarios?

It sounds like you've got a pretty good setup going here. Good work! Blue Iris is meant to simplify all of the functions that you have manually created this is so the average user can have all of these features without creating FTP servers, webservers, file management, etc. I do not know about...

    Identify cat6 ends

Yes it very well could be picking up the noise in the bundle. Try this, hold the probe in one hand and hold it away from your body (probe yourself). Now use the other hand as the wand. Using my body as a noise filter has helped me identify wires in this exact situation before.

    Foscam Calling Home

You're absolutely correct, allowing the world to access my Windows PC would be worse in almost all circumstances. I use the Windows firewall to restrict access to the blue iris webserver then OpenVPN on a separate box to access the home network. The OpenVPN server also has firewall rules on it...

    Foscam Calling Home

I'm not sure about stunnel, it appears to be a proxy server that has some access control features. I would be concerned that it may open other possibilities for an attacker to gain access. I'll admit I'm not familiar with it though. I agree with Nayr's method of using firewall and routing...

    Foscam Calling Home

I'm sure @nayr has some good ideas, I've read some of his prison implementations however I chose to put my cameras on an air-gapped network (A physically separate network that does not route to the internet). To access the cameras remotely I use a second NIC in my PC running Blue Iris. Then I...
