OK.. if this is 10 years system so you should look at Dahua NVR5232 model (PRO line, 2 disks, 32 channels) and as I told Dahua 5442 cams (54IR)... - You can mix cameras up to 12MPx on modern Dahua NVR... of course higher resolutions needs more bandwith and if You want to display them over HDMI (or analyze them using AI on NVR) also decoding capabilities... Newbie trying to understand Dahua NVR/camera-logic
1. first don't mix SMD and IVS... use only IVS, SMD disable.. 2. if You enabled IVS with AI by Recorder, log to camera web panel and check is IVS disabled on camera? if not, disable it... IVS done on NVR is enough...- steve1225

ps2. unifi routers have also Teleport feature for mobile/desktop clients... You install unifi app (wifiman, on google/Apple Store) and then in unifi router console generate for each VPN client unique link, which must be "clicked" in web browser on each device with wifiman... this link installs...- steve1225

OK - primary question: does this solution is only for VIEWING one camera installed on remote site? if yes, then why You need any VPN? Does Dahua P2P don't work over starlink?... You can give access to anyone using DMSS, simply giving camera serial number and user/pass with viewing permissions...- steve1225

I use MagicVPN feature on Unifi routers from Ubiquity.. 4 networks on 4 different ISP in 2 countries, 2 of them on LTE/5G with CGNAT and no public IP.. This is P2P solution, cloud is used only to find other routers in internet... Works like magic... Simply select which networks from which...- steve1225

If your "other" cams don't work with Dahua NVR, then there is huge probability that they will not work with HIK NVR... What are those camera? Does they support ONVIF? if yes - Dahua should support them... Are You enabled ONVIF support on cameras? Are You created ONVIF admin user with password... -

You didn't wrote what are those other cameras? if there aren't hik-vision and they don't support RTSP - then HIK NVR will also don't support it... this nvr is low-line acusense one... yes it can do motion detection 2.0 on all channels, but please remember that You must also check decoding... -

those SOC contains not only CPU (ARM cores), but also ISP, GPU and NPU - AI accelerator - very often even two running in parallel allowing to run 2 different models at once. Beginner Question: AI or dump camera for Frigate
one of the main rules in cctv: only NVR/VMS from the same manufacturer is able to support all camera features (especially AI).. there is no one standard for unified AI events between companies.. there is module for frigate which allows to receive dahua events... but I don't know how they work...
