    hello

You're most welcome. I'm glad I was able to help. Something I forgot to mention and you might want to do is save a back up copy of the configuration for the switch. To do this log into the web interface, go to configurations, management and click on the download button.

Completely agree, but these conversations should take place in an appropriate thread.

Glad you got it all sorted. I see no storm that you created, however, I do see a thread that was hijacked.

    hello

Devices on separate vlans need a router to talk to each other. You can enable inter-vlan routing on the switch. I can help you out more tomorrow with this.

    hello

The VPN is for you to connect to your internal network from an external source, so if you had a laptop, you could install the OpenVPN client on that and access your internal network. Any traffic leaving your home network will not go through that VPN. In order to encrypt traffic leaving your...

    Setting up Network Properly

Apologies it's been a while since I set all this up so I'm probably getting confused between this and setting up OpenVPN. Have you tried setting the domain name to something unique and then trying to look up the domain name? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that your Asus router is getting...

    Setting up Network Properly

The ip address that you need to be using is the 66.x.x.x one as that is your external ip. You also should use a unique hostname i.e. something other than router.asuscomm.com. The Asus DNS provides hostnames with asuscomm.com domain if I am not mistaken.

    Setting up Network Properly

You would only need to use a DDNS service if you don't have a static ip address. If you are showing a 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x through 172.31.x.x address on the homepage of your router, then that is not a public ip address.

    hello

I would suggest you update the software on the switch first to whatever the latest is. I've uploaded the manuals I used to my OneDrive so you don't have to go hunting for them: Procurve 2620. If you need any assistance, let me know and I'll be more than happy to help. There's also a pdf in there...

    hello

If you enter the ip address for your switch in the browser, you should be able to access the web interface. This will allow you to perform a limited amount of configuration. If you download a piece of software called Putty, you can try using Telnet to connect to the switch using the ip address...

    Confused - Sort Of - VPN/Port Forwarding

The LAN settings should use your internal DNS server i.e. point it to the ip address of your router. The WAN DNS settings are for when you don't want to use your ISP's provided DNS servers. Glad you fixed that issue. As SouthernYankee said, disable your wifi on your mobile and then test again.

    Confused - Sort Of - VPN/Port Forwarding

I've pinged my domain name and it resolves to my external ip address. Is the ip address that is being resolved the same as your external ip? If not, then your DNS is broken. Also when you do ping, make sure you are not connected to your local network (wifi) and that your router is configured to...

    Network Ping Response Help

When the connection to the camera drops, have you tried doing a trace route to the bridge? To do this, open a command prompt (windows) and type tracert x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is the ip address of the bridge. Destination host unreachable message is usually a routing issue.

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours replicate fully around the globe. You could try and see if it works now. Make sure the OpenVPN profile on your phone has the correct name too.

I've been using the Asus DDNS and I've had no issues here. Like looney2ns says, change the domain name.

    Confused - Sort Of - VPN/Port Forwarding

Don't give up so easily. You need to set up OpenVPN on your router, along with DDNS. Export the OpenVPN certificate and email that to yourself. Install the OpenVPN client on your mobile. You could then install remote desktop on your phone and rdp into your blue iris server or you could install...
