    there is 2 x 4” conduits going under a-paved entrance way for about 25ft. So lots of room. got this on both sides of laneway. I was thinking about use these sprinkler valve boxes too hide the tops of conduit and my seal tight connections. Will have to trim the conduits off a few inches below...

    Start with 1 is the general rule around here. See how you like it. They are great if you already have a lit up area. No need to have the camera LED on, as it attracts bugs.

    Running minimal wattage security system on DC

    I currently building a small off grid camera setup my self. Using a EmpireTech IPC-Color4K-T . It’s using around 7 Watts day time, waiting to see what it uses with the Warm LED’s on tonight. ( spec sheet says 10.5 Watts. I am only using an internal SD card for recording IVS events only.

    I don’t advise removing soffit. Opening a can of worms, unless you have installed soffit before. Better off tucking the wire in the J channel or fascia trim.

    The fiberglass rods are a must-have, also a metal fish tape. Makes attic work much easier. If the basement ceiling is accessible, then you can send the wire directly down from the attic inside an interior wall? I do it all the time. (great job for those new glow rods)

    I always try sneak the wires inside the garage without seeing them. Once wires are in the garage you can neatly surface mount the wires down into the basement. (Hint : try looking for something else going in basement like a water tap or central vac.
