Since I'm in no rush.. I'm going give the $102 5MP camera a test. If it works out then it is a pretty good low-cost option for others...

And the 4MP Dahua looks to have much lower Lux than the 5MP I've seen so far. Glad you think the angle is ok. I could go from the other corner of the house to reduce the angle but that would add another 30ft and need probably a 125mm lense. ALPR does the pre-warping? Another option is for me...

Nice.. I like the price also. Thanks. Dahua looks to be a solid choice. I see there is a 5MP camera as well. But I need to find a retailer. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/5MP-Box-CCTV-IP-P2P-onvif_60085009965.html?spm=a2700.7724857.29.30.JMEZr3&s=p

I hear you on work.. same here.. ours is a big AWS migration push. Great idea for using exif. You are still using beanstalkd? I thought you are having alprd send directly to nodejs on port 9000.

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

Now that I have alprd working and understanding how it all works, I am getting around to looking at your nodejs code. So if I have this correct, you are replacing beanstalkd with nodejs. And you plan to have nodejs update the OSD and to place the data into a database? I am currently using a...

    Hi.. all

I've decided to just go with Milestone Essential. It simply works too well and is not something I'll need to worry about. I want something reliable and it works flawlessly. CPU use is really low compared to anything else.

    Hi.. all

The pricing seems pretty reasonable. They said to go from 4 to 8 cameras one would buy an additional 4 camera license.

    Hi.. all

    Hi.. all

Starting to get into ip cams once again. I've got my poe injector ready and started to add cameras. I've tested XProtect, Blue Iris and Bluecherry. I think I'll be going with Bluecherry since it runs efficiently like XProtect and has the features I need without breaking the bank.
