    Dome vs. Bullet

My problem is, I'm having problems figuring out if the cameras have smartphone capability and/or microSD card slots. The specs seem to address those in a very haphazard manner. For example, I'm looking at three turret cams by LTS: CMIP1142-28, CMIP1142W and CIMP1142W-6. I think they're the...

    Dome vs. Bullet

It's my understanding that the SD cards are difficult to get to (for obvious reasons). I was not planning on having 24/7 monitoring but a video capture triggered by motion sensing, so an SD card might be a decent option. Do any turrets have smartphone capability? That might be useful as well.

    Dome vs. Bullet

Thanks for that information. I'm trying to avoid needing an NVR. I'm retired, and don't want to spend a fortune on security cameras and gear, plus I don't really have a place for it in my house. I was hoping to put one wireless camera to watch the drive, but it's looking like that's not even...

    Dome vs. Bullet

Well, you can see why I might be confused: Hikvision DS-CD2332-I Original 1/3" CMOS 3PM 2.8mm Lens POE Network CCTV DOME IP Camera Does anyone make a turret cam that has wifi? I'm not finding that, which may make this whole project moot.

    Dome vs. Bullet

Well, now you know why I'm asking questions. I thought turrets were another name for bullets, and I thought the pictures of turrets were pictures of domes. Now I have to start researching all over again. Thanks for clearing that up.

    Dome vs. Bullet

Apparently I've misunderstood. I thought a turret was a bullet. No?

    Dome vs. Bullet

I'm researching, trying to learn as much as I can before spending my money. I'm trying to decide between a dome or a bullet camera. I posted some pics of the area that I want to cover and the possible mounting locations here...

    Wifi Doorbell

The Skybell FAQ has this: So the answer is it depends. Skybell does work with Kevo and further integration is forthcoming. http://blog.skybell.com/kevo-skybell-integration/

    Onvif Compatible Doorbell Cam

I have no idea what ONVIF is, but perhaps Skybell supports it? http://www.skybell.com/pages/partners It doesn't have POE though, because it uses the 24v doorbell feed to power itself and communicates over wifi.

I think what he wants (correct me if I'm wrong) is access to the cameras' videos remotely (but what do I know?)

What dash cam are you using?

I just bought and installed a DDpai M6+. This is my first dash cam. It has a battery, so I hardwired it to IGN. So it's only on when the car is running. (I'm retired, so I don't need to record endless hours of my car parked in the driveway.) It has excellent picture quality including night...

    Chinese cameras with english firmware

What's the trick to ensuring that, if you buy a Chinese camera, it comes with English firmware? From my research the two are not interchangeable, and you can't "upgrade" from one to the other. Are sellers clear regarding whether a camera has English or Chinese firmware? Or is it buyer beware?

Newbie with questions - surprise surprise

I'm going to post some pictures so you can see what I'm trying to accomplish. This is the part of the view the camera should have. You can see the edge of the carport at the top of the picture: This is another part of the view the camera should have. The alley turns 90 degrees beside my...

Newbie with questions - surprise surprise

TL;DR: I have some questions about two cameras. Skip to the bottom. I hate that things have gotten to the point that I even need to consider security cameras, but there you go. (I'll spare you the details, but we have not yet been broken into or had anything stolen - neighbors have.) I just...
