intel i5 nuc ... mini nvr

Strange. Axxonnext was the easiest to get going. Ironically my biggest issue when testing it out was I had problems stopping it after motion triggers. It would just keep recording and recording after being triggered. Something's really wrong when you can't even manually record. You can try...

Intel NUC or BRIX owners with Blue Iris - Please help me with some questions

i7-4770 runs 24MP at 30W (3-4% load). 27W seems ridiculous considering the price premium paid for the NUC form factor. I'm even looking to dump the i7 to attempt to hit 15W and fanless.

Intel NUC or BRIX owners with Blue Iris - Please help me with some questions

Agreed. Blue iris on any NUC is just asking for trouble. i5 or higher desktop CPU in a USFF is a much better idea.

You have to set up each camera to point to a drive/target/dir or it won't record. The video turning red is just the trigger channel being sent and the alarm being logged. IIRC there will be another icon when it is recording. Double check your storage settings.

Little confused on my options for NVR..

That amount of cameras likely means maids/etc entering the property, not really break-ins.

Milestone Husky NVR vs. i7 PC

Windows Embedded Standard 7 Maximum power consumption 80W, 24V DC input Power Input 200W / 100~240V Different OS and PSU. May be ULV chips especially with it being fanless. Anything special beyond that? Nope.

    Hikvision 7608NI and 8 cams?

DS-7108N-SN English version will be coming out soon for hikvision if it isn't out already. ~$100 shipped from China today. You won't see that ION support hikvision anytime soon as they just rebadge someone else's unit. 3TB and 8 cams can vary. Storage should be 30-60 days depending on...

On Hikvision cameras where does the video/snapshots save to when you download them?

Hikvision format is h.264 in a MP4 container with a variable frame rate. Do not waste time re-encoding/transcoding; this is a header problem. Fixed using ffmpeg or handbrake GUI. Set it to 30fps fixed frame rate (or whatever you have your cams set at) and it will play. There is no more...

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i5-4250U-Notebook-Processor.93564.0.html Triple check everything because those numbers are pretty terrible if the above is your CPU. Couldn't find "intel nuc D5420WYKH." The only thing that should get taxed is your GPU. 40EU of the HD5000 should be...

There's always a per camera license otherwise everyone would run those software packages. Base fee with 1-2 cam licenses + per camera license is how they are usually sold. $150 is the base fee. Recording should use nothing especially if all advanced features are handled in camera. That is...

intel i5 nuc ... mini nvr

If you have no client/liveview open, there should be next to zero CPU usage for background recording. The CPU is doing nothing. Disconnect that foscam. Maybe it's trying to do software motion control or some BS like sending terrible out of spec h264 streams/errors/etc. 5-10% background...

Server Specs - Ram and Hard drives

You should be able to monitor RAM usage. 40+GB is insane. For drives, you may be pushing the limit of the RED's. WD has Purple out but I think you would be better off just getting enterprise drives since you are planning on 24 cameras. RED's sould be better at archiving footage. For...

**** There is a bug in iVMS-4200 likely causing your issues. With the auto-switch selected in the settings (double click substream -> displays main stream -> double click drops back down sub stream). There is a bug where the main stream will stick when it is supposed to change back. So if...

Could there be more hand-holding? Yes, but it's not that bad. The only intuitive UI is axxon. Grab the camera you want and just start srubbing video/events/flags. When finished just exit out

Wrong recording date show = likely you don't have your time synced on machine/cameras. No scrubbing but you have the ability to export clips. It even throws up a notification that it was successful. Exported clips are saved in the ivms directory. Playback thrashing the CPU - how many cameras...

iVMS 4200 - Main View - Option to set live view cameras to sub-stream greyed out?!

That means the camera is in use. Stop the live view, change to sub-stream, and then start the camera again. Not a bug, just not user friendly. You may have to disable auto-switch liveview in the settings.
