Windows 10 runs out of RAM

The PC is dedicated to BlueIris. Its only other work is running the utility that changes camera profile at sunrise/sunset. I think my biggest problem right now is I don't know how to go about figuring out what is causing the memory leak. Task Manager and performance monitor in Windows don't...

Windows 10 runs out of RAM

After ~1 week of uptime, my windows 10 system has started running out of memory. It doesn't look like Blue Iris is the culprit as its memory footprint stays relatively stable at 3.5GB of use. In fact Windows Task Manager just shows a red box around the memory column, and although Blue Iris is...

    Exporting triggers when recording 24/7

I gathered as much. I wish there was a way to have the green/red markers aligned to a clip so I could export the segment that corresponds to the clip easily. Since the entire clip is usually long compared to the small section I want to export, I find its a pain to drag the markers around to...

Cleaning up street footage at night

It looks like the the main difference in your settings is reducing the grade of the noise reduction. I'll have to give that a shot. I've got a decent amount of visible light at the important spots in front of the house where I really care to see things clearly. The stuff at the street is dark...

Lag during playback - exported clips are fine

Playback of old clips which have been moved to a drive which isn't where the active recordings are taking place seems to be pretty smooth. But then this is intermittent I find. I'll try moving the BI database onto the SSD. I'm going to have to shuffle everything around when I put in a new...

Lag during playback - exported clips are fine

I've got a Core i5-4690K @ 3.5Ghz, 16 GB ram, 250GB SSD startup drive, 4TB WD purple primary recording drive. I'm running 13 cameras (2 old wifi samsungs, 10 Dahua 2mp starlights, 1 old hikvision). I recently bumped all the Starlights up to 8192k max bitrate. Windows reports ~50-75 Mbps...

Cleaning up street footage at night

I bumped up the max bit rate to 8192; the FPS is still at 25 as it was before: Daytime profile: Nightime profile: Windows task manager reports BI using ~ 35-50 Mbps network traffic. I run about 43% CPU to BI on an i5-4690K @ 3.5 GHz.

    Exporting triggers when recording 24/7

Is there a trick to exporting a triggered event when my cameras record 24/7? The export/convert option is disable when I right click on an alert in the alert list. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Cleaning up street footage at night

I've been running the new settings for a while, and I've also upgraded my IR illuminator. I've got a 15 LED illuminator now: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075MW6VLT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It definitely lights up across the street much better than the old one did. In...

Cleaning up street footage at night

I've considered that as well, but I feel like the mailbox being right by the sidewalk would invite someone to kick it or otherwise damage it. A pinhole is going to be tough as you're not going to get an amazing picture at night or day due to the tiny lens. Though worth experimenting. On the...

Cleaning up street footage at night

Camera to the edge of street is 26'. Tree to the edge of the street is 8'. I'm assuming its probably unreasonable to get clear shots of moving cars at night (primarily for vehicle type ID; I know the license plate is a whole other story).

Cleaning up street footage at night

I used the shutter speed range. 1/100sec seems to work well for pedestrian traffic. Cars are still a smear of course. I will see if more illuminators near the street let me get some more out of that. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Cleaning up street footage at night

Tweaked the cameras to bump up the gain and raise the shutter speed in the night profile. I also raised the data rate to 8192 with a variable bit rate encoder. The ghosting is significantly improved and quality for the camera with an external illulimator is improved. Just in time too, I...

Cleaning up street footage at night

I used to have the camera at the driveway zoomed on my mailbox but now that I've got a heavy duty locking box I've zoomed it out some. I have 2 other cameras at the front that give me really good coverage of the potential approaches up to my house. I think illuminators on the tree will be...

Cleaning up street footage at night

I've set up a night profile with manual exposure 0-10 msec. I have also bumped the bit rate to 8096 from 4096. We will see if that makes things clearer. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Cleaning up street footage at night

We had a pack of 3 cyclists casing the neighborhood and stealing packages the other night. My camera setup is generally focused on catching intrusion on to my property and attempts to enter my house. One of my cameras has an ir illuminator that lights up to the sidewalk pretty well. In...

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

    Mail theft gang

Those would work pretty well. You can also make your own landscape boulders pretty cheaply. I used fiber reinforced topping cement and metal lath screening to make a hollow column fountain for my back yard. The metal screening is easy to bend into whatever shape you want and then you just...

    Mail theft gang

The problem you'll run into with putting a wireless sensor inside the metal mailbox is its going to block the sensor signal. I had that problem when I wired up my mailbox sensor. Do you have a means of getting sensor inputs into Blue Iris (ie using one of the serial inputs they recommend)...

It's only distorted when running in corridor more. Neither the web UI or the app can figure out the aspect ratio for some reason. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Is it just at night? You could be getting IR light reflecting back into the camera causing a sort of lens flare. I've had that issue when one of my cameras was aimed too high and the emitters we're shining on the soffits. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 / NVR5216-16P-4KS2

I haven't used my Dahua NVR for a while (its a model 5216). Turns out it wasn't recording for a few weeks. It lost all the camera passwords. To top it off it also lost the admin password, so I can't even log into the NVR. I'm glad I use BlueIris; this NVR is a turd.

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

Yup which is perfect! The plants in the front hide it somewhat as you walk up the driveway until you're turning onto the sidewalk. I should put a little cloth hood over it and then at night the ir illumnators would make it look like a little Sand Person from Star Wars. Sent from my Pixel 2...

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

I've still got my dome camera over the front door. I've never been super happy with how a person's face is almost completely obscured when they walk right up to the door because the angle is too great. The first shot is of a solicitor approaching the door; this is about the best face shot I...

    Filter alerts by Motion Zone?

I imagine there are plenty of interesting use cases for cloning the camera. It doesn't seem like an entirely elegant way of going about what I'm looking to do though. :) I will have to see if the web API can get me a list of recent events or something like that. Then I could just write a...
