    Mailbox camera LPR

Someone in the Blue Iris group on FB made inserts to go inside of his PVC mailbox post that would allow him to place cameras inside. He was limited to fixed focal lengths, and couldn't really adjust them, but it's something. He made one for the end of the post, as well, to point back...

Camera placement and camera suggestion for new home

To comment directly on some points in your post. With your breaker panel being mounted on the exterior, and it being a point of concern, I would definitely place your NVR/VMS and camera POE switch on a battery backup. Even if you only have a few minutes of power, it gives you a buffer with your...

Camera placement and camera suggestion for new home

The mentality a lot of people have is they want to see everything, but when it comes time to use their capture as evidence, they lack the detail. It also doesn't help that most Box and Cloud systems will come with 2.8mm cameras and only exacerbate the problem. One camera cannot do it all...

Optimal height of camera for animal, pedestrian, driver & plate-vehicle ID

I guess more context/a better description would have been helpful. The only place, in the provided photo, that makes sense for cars to be driving is on the road beyond the treeline. You will also, likely, need separate cameras for all of the items you are looking to cover. (animals...

Optimal height of camera for animal, pedestrian, driver & plate-vehicle ID

Seeing where the road is, I think the treeline is the bigger concern, and not height.

We don't really have much issue with any of those here. I have 5442s installed all over with their regular housings and have never really had any issues other than dead flies falling out if I take one down.

I reference this chart. I thought PETG had some UV resistance, but I guess ASA is really the only one suited for outside. https://www.simplify3d.com/resources/materials-guide/properties-table/

Bambu PLA Basic. I plan to print the final one in their PETG. I am working on re-modeling an AMS riser I found on Maker World to work with some LED strips that I have. It's so damned dark in these things.

I would say it’s 99% where I wanted it to be. I still need to print the lower portion that actually goes over the post sleeve, but I am beyond happy with everything else so far. The camera ball is sandwiched between two of these pedestals. It actually tightens up pretty well, maybe even better...

Ran into an issue with me being an idiot and accidentally pre-heating (melting) the filament with LEDs that I had put under the filament changer to light the cabinet, causing it to become stuck and stretch and not print... After much troubleshooting, I finally figured out what was going on and...

I pulled my first prototype off of the printer this morning, and I am beyond happy with it. The lid is printing now, but I wanted to post some pictures. Once the lid is done I will put up some pictures of the assembly.

I am curious what the application is where 12mm is not enough, but jumping up to 13mm is perfect.

Where did the EmpireTech PTZ5A4M-25X go?

It looks like it is just sold out, the same with the 4K model. I would guess he just doesn't have any supply of them right now to ship?

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

It depends on where the person is. The Auto Day/Night is controlled by the Far/Distant view and not the Close or Mid. You would need enough light far enough out to get that FOV to change, and I don't think 25W is enough for that FOV.

new installation - how to place cameras?

I agree. Of the proposed options, Option C is the best and will allow getting the feet wet before ultimately moving to Option D+. For Option C, I would use the T54IR-ZE. This would allow an adjustable focal length, and being crossed down the length of the building, the attack angle will lower...

new installation - how to place cameras?

Color4K-T180 is $238 USD Color4K-T is $210 USD T54IR-ZE is $185 USD T54IR-AS is $152 USD The recommended camera would be either of the T54IR options. the ZE is varifocal, but the AS can be had in a 6mm version which might be sufficient. Given the cost difference, you could deploy more cameras...

new installation - how to place cameras?

Those cameras do not use IR and require light to see anything and be usable. Even with your soffit lights, you likely will not have enough light at distance to see anything beyond a few meters. Option A is many times better than Option B. I wouldn't even consider Option B. Option C is a good...

Not too bad then, I paid $799 from Bambu. My local Micro Center didn't have the combo with the AMS. What I did to become more familiar, and this will work with any software, was to watch Too Tall Toby on Youtube. He has a lot of great videos with drawings to model with. He does have specific...

Unfortunately I didn't get BF pricing, but hopefully what I paid wasn't too much more. This is Mastercam. I'm not sure how beginner friendly it is, but I had no experience with it before I started at the company just under 2 years ago. I do well at picking up things as I go, so it wasn't...

The Typical picture of a Perp on Nextdoor-type Apps with Consumer Grade Cameras like Ring, Nest, Arlo, Canary, Wyze, etc.

I am a member in a home improvement group on Facebook, and it is not uncommon to get questions about security cameras. Every time, without fail, it is always suggested to go with Reolink, Eufy, Ring, etc. And, every time, I always give my spiel about wired > wireless, avoid all of the cameras...

I want another view for anyone coming up the walk to the house and have wanted to add a camera at about 42-48" high on the approach to my front door. Garage camera placement - walls closing soon

Mine is the same way, that's why I just surface mounted it and then made a slit in the garage door weatherstripping. Not a fan of having an exposed cable, but it’s the least invasive and gets the camera in a good spot.
