    Question on LPR camera distance

Do you have power at the entrance? If so, put the camera there and use something like a Ubiquiti product to handle the long haul wireless transmission.

    guidance for new Dahua install?

Your best bet is to ask in the dedicated LPR forum as it is just as much art as it is science in getting LPR to work. @Mods, please move to LPR forum.

Ready to take the dive... but.

I think the HFW2231S is not an IP (network cable) Camera, but rather a coax camera.

Ready to take the dive... but.

PTZ is not intended for constant movement. PTZ's are intended for someone monitoring fixed cameras that need to zoom in on a particular area. It's your money, but you won't get what you think out of the PTZ. They will "auto track" sort of, but odds are it's going to be pointing the wrong...

Ready to take the dive... but.

If you want to save costs, don't get the PTZ. Just use 2 cameras to cover that area. PTZ auto-tracking will not do what you want. @looney2ns can vouch for that.

Which app for a single dahua?

Mine as well. If you know the limitations and have tested it out, you can exceed the specs by quite a bit. But you need to test!!!

Which app for a single dahua?

@funkybunch, don't get your hopes up on autotracking performing like you expect. @looney2ns will chime in on that. As far as Andy's stock, he doesn't keep everything on Amazon. Figure out what you want and contact him @EMPIRETECANDY. If you think you want 8, get a 16 channel NVR. The cost...

Specific case and where is the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12?

No, the E is the ability to power the camera over 'E'xtended distance.

Specific case and where is the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12?

    1. contact @EMPIRETECANDY directly for stock 2. Yes, it has an SD card slot to record to 3. You'll need to watch voltage drop, but you can power from a distance 4/5. The E is extended distance. Normal network specs are 300', this will go 800'. You won't need that 6. I assume the "ultra" is...

OpenALPR and Dahua camera Stream Settings

Sorry for delay. Traveling for work across a lot of time zones. I first set it up on an OrangePi, but that had never been stable in its life, so I switched to a rPi 3 B+. Which ran hot and taxed the processors, but it worked. That being said, I never checked the Agent.

No, the same IP shows 2X with IPC1 and IPC2 listed as the "Camera Name" and Channel 1 & 2, respectively. On the "Link Info" tab, channel D6 & D8 are shown and match IPC1 and IPC2
