Install Lorex camera on pre-wired junction box

I would get a junction box cover, one that the holes match the box you have. Then drill a bigger hole in the center for the cables to fit through and then a few holes for the camera's mounting screws. Make sure to get a metal cover and not plastic that crack over time.

    Cellular only monitored security systems

Depending on where I am stationed, the wife might come stay with me a while so we would suspend cable tv and internet service. Yes $9 a month isn't bad, I pay @$27. I don't know what type of building c hris527 want to monitor and what type of configurations he needs (i.e. multiple partitions).

    Cellular only monitored security systems

This is one reason I didn't go with Ring. My first system was Simons XT which worked fine but not having a display and having to program everything via long, complex keypad strings was a pain. After 9 yrs of use when the system started having issues I did a lot or research and decided on the...

    Spot what's wrong

Not on the NVR but when logged directly into the camera. Remember a new or reset camera will have an IP address of 192.168.1.108, the "Enable ARP/Ping to set IP address service" allows the NVR to assign a new address to work in the NVR's subnet. The NVR will assign the same predetermined ip to...

    Spot what's wrong

Disclamer: I have 2 months experience with with NVRs but a a decent head on my shoulders. The cameras don't have to be plugged directly into the NVR, just the only one plugged into the switch. As I said previously, one by one change the IP address and unclick the "Enable ARP/Ping to set IP...

    Spot what's wrong

Yes, this was the issue I had at startup. Unplug all but one camera from the upstairs switch. Once the that camera is online, access the cameras setting, change the IP address to 10.1.1.101 and UNSELECT "Enable ARP/Ping to set IP address service". Plug in the next camera, change the ip to...

    Need suggestions ASAP.....

Just to give you an idea, I have a IPC-T5442T-ZE covering the rear walkway; its mounted @ 8ft high and in corridor mode. The one pic is zoomed out all the way, each fence panel 8ft, so the gate is 36ft away. A Vari-focal seems pointless but was only a few dollars more.

Fighting spider webs change from bullet to eyeball?

Smart spider, build a web in front of the camera. At night when the IR attracts other bugs; dinner time. I respect a good strategy.

Fighting spider webs change from bullet to eyeball?

Logged in to visit home and caught a trespasser. 0ne month old and the spiders have already moved in. So much for eyeball cameras. And someone will have to show me one day how people upload videos to YouTube and link them to the post

    Line-Crossing (Tripwire) vs. Motion Detection?

is there a difference between the rule lines being Blue or Yellow, they seem to change on me. And on your driveway, why two rules? Wouldn't the intrusion with AI human and vehicle be enough?

    Line-Crossing (Tripwire) vs. Motion Detection?

Thanks, I will give it a try next time I remote in. Do you do the settings on the camera or the NVR? I don’t see a difference, they seem to update each other. Most of my camera GUIs are not accessible via the NVR and being away my only option is to do it via the NVRs AI settings.

    Line-Crossing (Tripwire) vs. Motion Detection?

So do you select Cross and Appear, and then also select AI, Human, Vehicle in each rule?

    Line-Crossing (Tripwire) vs. Motion Detection?

What I can't figure out. I have an intrusion box drawn and both appear and cross selected but the Dahua NVR stops recording with the people still walking within. How do I get the recording to continue until the target leaves the area? I can increase the Post-Record but to what? Some people can...

    Dahua NVR Recording Space

Trying to maximize my storage length and was wondering. If the NVR is set up to record Constant, MD and IVS; does it record three separate streams or one main stream and bookmarks the events? If each is separate streams, can I setup the continuous to record off the main stream at 10fps and the...

Help with IP conflicts and POE networking

First, you don't need to change the IPC IP address manually because as soon as you plug it into the NVR's POE port, the NVR will change it to the address associated with that specific port. To stop this you would need to unselect "Enable ARP/Ping". Now the camera will communicates with the NVR...

Just though I would update this post and share what I was able to accomplish before I transferred out. I was able to mount most of the cameras; one arrived defective and one is still in the box. Help with IP conflicts and POE networking

Wish there was a handbook that explained what every setting did. I spent time setting up tripwires on all cameras then afterwards turned on h.256 and Smart Codec. The next day i realized that smart codec turned off IVS. Luckily I can remote into my home computer and play with the settings on...

Help with IP conflicts and POE networking

Thanks. What I learned from trial and error, and a lot of errors: If using an extender so multiple cameras use the same port, I need to add them one at a time and change the IP address.
