New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

No, CloudPlay is active and needed only when you want to watch live feed and you're not on the VDB lan. To prove it: I just disabled wifi on my mobile and accessed EZVIZ app to watch live feed. You cannot go back in time, not even 10 minutes since you start watching live feed. You can watch...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

    1. Correct 2. Wrong. These doorbells, as per specifications, work with 8v-24v range.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

In my previous post I wrote: "The FUSE is to be mandatorily used when you have NO CHIME connected. The POWER-KIT is mandatory when you have the chime connected." So I don't understand your point here. You seem very confused, so I'll drop it here. And I don't want to continue in private because...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Didn't miss it, it meant you knew it was a jerkie post. I was just underlining it. :) in EZVIZ documentation it is clearly stated that IF you use a traditional chime you MUST use the powerkit. It's not a choice. And this is confirmed by many people on the field, including me. Yours works...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

He says it happens only when he opens the stream with EZVIZ app or Alexa.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

That's good. I think there's also a way to "refresh/rediscover" without deleting it from BI.
  7. alexdelprete

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

This is @David L BI config. Looks the same, except for "Get ONVIF trigger events" that is checked.
  8. alexdelprete

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

The ONVIF discovery was done after upgrading to hikvision or before when you had the original firmware? In the former case, you should refresh the ONVIF config with BI because the 2 fw might have different paths or something different. Can you show us the screenshot of BI config with the paths...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I didn't see your edit (no notifications on edits). :) Well now we're back to not knowing if it's the hardware or if the upgrade to Hikvision (with a factory reset) does the trick. You should have done it one step at a time. :)

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

    1. IIRC, the powerkit was already disassembled long time ago, and pics were posted in this thread 2. IIRC, there hasn't been ONE case in which the little box created issue, got broken, failed, etc. 3. All the people with chime issues that were sent a replacement powerkit by ezviz support DIDN'T...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Video stored on their server even with cloud disabled? Did you verify this sniffing the network? I sniffed for 2 days when I installed it (cloud disabled) and I didn't see any video traffic to the internet. This is an important thing, and we must be sure the information provided is correct...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

If that was true, when you have cloud disabled it should disable encryption. Plus, the ezviz app wouldn't be able to decrypt it unless you had cloud enabled. This is EZVIZ support on this topic:

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

You can turn it off, but that is mostly when you want to see the video from Alexa/google devices. If you're using ezviz app, you should be able to see the video also with encryption on, if the user is the same.

It works, but you have to login in the app with the same user, or use the SHARE feature from the main account to another account.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

That confirms it's not a doorbell hardware issue, but the firmware. Check connections just in case, use hikvision's firmware and guarding vision app. It must work. If it doesn't, it's something related to your connections.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

So the mechanical chime is the same. And you installed it exactly the same way? Power-kit connected the same way? Did you measure the voltages normally and when pushing the button? Did you double check if the chime config on the app is enabled and mechanical chime is selected? On latest ezviz...

Does he have the same chime as yours? Just to understand the differences between your setup and his.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I was referring to ONVIF functionality and integration. For example, I finally managed to be able to reboot through command line using ONVIF. You can also instruct SSS to reboot the camera base on some events, etc. Regarding the rethorical question: ezviz are totally crazy, and looking at what...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I use Synology Surveillance Station, and have used the DB1 in plain rtsp for months, then I decided to switch to hikvision fw with ONVIF for better flexibility, funcionalities and integration. You made a wise choice.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Correct, that's why they wrote that article. Many people are buying expensive Cat7/Cat8 cables thinking they're better, while they're probably worse quality respect to old Cat5e cables from a good vendor.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I'm a member of an italian forum about telco and all tech surrounding the topic, cables included, there are a lot of real experts that also work for big telco providers or companies that install telco infrastructure. They have a nice wiki and recently they wrote an article about cable types...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I agree, but only for clients and IoT devices, and with mesh nodes connected to the mesh master through gig-ethernet. For NAS, server-to-server connections, and fiber internet connections, you want to go with cables and possibly, fiber.
  24. alexdelprete

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Yes but when I'll pass the fiber cable I want to make sure it supports 10Gb so when time comes, you only change the transceiver on the switches. Future proof. That's what I like about fiber.
  25. alexdelprete

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

So fiber only for backbone (switch-to-switch). That's how you do it. You should have two connections for redundancy though. And two core switches. Edge switch connects to two separate core switches. That's how you do it in enterprise environments. But it's probably overkill in home environment. :)

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

You're talking to an ethernet fan. Wired connections all the way. And PoE is amazing. :) If I build a new house, it'll have etherne ports literally everywhere and a full rack in the basement. :D Anyway, my mesh network nodes will connect to the mesh master through ethernet, instead of...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Very flexible product. Interesting. I like the fact that you can mix a lot of types of cables/speeds/etc. My friend @David L chose TP-Link.
  28. alexdelprete

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Makes sense, but the question is: in the kids room or other rooms, what the hell do you have to connect? A media player, maybe a PC or a console, those work with ethernet. All the rest of the devices are pretty much wireless. Plus, with ethernet, like you said, you can provide power on the...
  29. alexdelprete

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I'm thinking to do fiber where I'll put the rack, together with NAS and a server. In the rooms and externally (cams and external plugs) just cat6. Why do you need fiber in every room?

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

If you use PoE cameras, the main switch (the backbone home network) and servers should always be under UPS. That's why I didn't start the project, I have to decide where to locate my mini-datacenter, then I'll put the rack, the UPS, and I'll cable everything with gig-ethernet. Right now, for me...
