Actually the stick is only for zwave, for EU users, IIRC. The new C7 hw has everything embedded, with a new zwave stuck, but I didn't check the details yet because I don't feel the need to migrate from my C5.

That's HE philosophy. Main reason why I chose it. Home Automation doesn't have to depend on the cloud, just on power, unfortunately. :)

I think I'll try this one: wifi and triggers via MQTT. But I don't like the fact that is powered by battery, I'd have preferred a 12VDC power + battery. You could also make a python package (running as a service) to install on a server (local or remote) via pip, with a clear and agile API, and then provide plugins/drivers examples for the most used automation platforms (Hubitat, HA, SmartThings, OpenHAB and you got the majority of users I...

Family first, always. hope your son is getting better. There are several alternatives to explore. Someone put a zigbee vibration sensor inside the mechanical chime to catch the notification. :) The problem for me is that I have no traditional chimes. So I need to work on a power in-line sensor...

Impressive stuff Rafale. You should think of making a sort of "plugin" for various automation hubs. It would be incredible to announce the name of the visitor at the door/gate. :)

Check my sig: I use an Aeotec z-wave chime/siren. SAGE sends the notification via zigbee to my HE automation hub, and I've a Rule Machine trigger that commands my aeotec to chime and commands all echo devices through the house to announce someone's at the external gate. Did you solve the issue...

FR locally? Wow, that is really cool. I don't use HA anymore, switched to HE 1y ago. Can you describe a little bit the sw components used? I'd love to do something like that. :)

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Yes, and I think I wrote about it in the thread. The SAGE seems to "stuck" every once in a while. What I do is remove the battery, wait 30secs, insert the battery and usually it works again. Sometimes I had to reset it via the specific button and pair it again with the automation hub. Last time...

If you have hikvision fw, ONVIF is already enabled, you don't need to do anything with Batch Config. If you want to check which cameras on the network support ONVIF, you can use ONVIF Device Manager on a windows pc.

Same fw respect to whom? What brand/model do you have? What firmware? Not all fw provide ONVIF functionality, and you can't enable/configure it via batch config if fw doesn't provide it.

Sure, I didn't mean to say it was not true in your case, but it can't be a general advice for everybody. If a network device doesn't supporto 802.11k or 802.11v it doesn't mean it will disconnect from the AP like in your case, it's probably due to the implementation of your specific AP. I have...

You're not slow, it's that there's a LOT of things to study if you want to know how everything works, and sometimes, even if you already read something, someone describes it with a different name/label/acronym and you don't reconnect it to the thing you already read. It happens often. :)

I'm using it since a couple of weeks, GUI has been revamped, so far it's working fine. Didn't try for upgrades though. But I'm using this as the standard version now.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Welcome to the thread. Sorry but the information you provided is misleading: the doorbell has no issues with band steering standards (802.11k, 802.11v). I use a Fritz!Box mesh network with all band steering features enabled and one SSID, and I have no disconnections. No problems here. Must be...

The best mesh network is made like this: mesh nodes and mesh master connected to a gigabit backbone. This is an enterprise architecture, in offices environment that's how WLANS are designed, the wireless nodes are just a way to let wireless devices connect to the enterprise network, and they are...

Power is very important for these small devices, what PS are you using? After the first phase of the config is finished and the camera joins the network, when you restart the config, usually the wizard sees the camera on the network and skips most of the steps. But in your case, the app does...

All those tests make no sense, it's just desperation. Last suggestions: 1. Go to a friend's house, with a pluggable 24V transformer, reset the doorbell and configure it on his wifi with an android mobile phone. If it works, you know it's your home wifi devices that won't let your mobile...

You can check on the compatibility site: Surveillance Station IP Camera Support List | Synology Inc. Chose Brand DAHUA and then as keyword I put IPC-HDW5, these are the results. That specific model is not listed, but probably it works.

You can use a mesh network, and you can cable the mesh nodes with cat6. So you can actually bypass the mirror+steeldoor in that way, if needed.

Can I see a picture of the entrance with the doorbell installed? Just curious...:) You have 2 cameras on SSS and 14 on BI? I thought you had everything on BI, that's why I told you you had 2 free on the NAS.

Rule of thumb: The I-Frame interval should match the fps rate. Some NVRs suggest I-Frame interval to be 2*FPS. It depends on the hw, the codec, the network and the result you look for (quality vs resources). A steel door??? The doorbell or the repeater? Crazy stuff...

It's a low-cost doorbell, even if you brick it (and it rarely happens), you can easily solve the issue, expecially if it's under warranty. ;) No risk, no reward...and with all the info you have and the support, the risk is really low.
