HFW5431-z I need help setting IVS and the shutter speed please !

For a LPR camera the image at night will be almost black except for the license plates. I'd also up the gain to 80 and open the iris to 100. I'd set the IR to manual and set it to around 60-70. I'm not an expert. I just set up my camera at night and played around with the settings until I...

Please show me your camo camera, looking at putting one in a tree !

I like the conduit idea. Was either going to paint mine or use something like thisCamo Sheets & Rolls | Camouflage Vinyl Rolls | Camowraps® to wrap conduit and camera

I totally get the aesthetic issue with cameras, but don't you think that having same cameras readily visible deters potential burglars, etc.

HFW5431-z I need help setting IVS and the shutter speed please !

I'm not an expert. In my bench testing, I found that the cameras are very finicky when it comes to doing IVS rules. I think a lot of it is browser dependent. I had the best luck using internet explorer. I couldn't get it to work with chrome or Firefox. I also have a mac, and safari was also...

Has anyone used one of these to mount their cameras, or vinyl wrap camera?

http://www.pach-co.com/products/pedestal%20mount/images/pedestal%20mounts.jpg If so, how did it work for you? I need to mount some cameras on the other side of my driveway gate closer to the sidewalk for general sidewalk and car surveillance as well as using another camera as LPR. I was...

Skipped Frames on MD/IVS/Alerts while recording to on-camera SD card

The problem is in the code Dahua uses. They no doing recycle the code on their nvr and on camera

Or the reuse the same deficient code when recording directly to the camera or the nvr.

Suggestion for outdoor version of SD29204T-GN (mini-PTZ)

Thanks, I need the IR thought. Also, ideally I'd be able to install the camera on top of a pedestal and the tilt the camera so it faces down.

Suggestion for outdoor version of SD29204T-GN (mini-PTZ)

Looking for small waterproof PTZ that I can mount on my driveway gates, that I can use for surveillance of the sidewalk and street. But can also aim at specific location and zoom in if alarm event is triggered by PIR or door bell. It doesn't have to be Dahua, although preferred. Any...

    Dahua mounting, one like this?

Most of the cameras have mounts that allow you to manually tilt and rotate the camera. So it really depends on the specific model you are looking at. There is a accessory sheet you can look up online at the Dahua website with the different accessory mounts they have for each different camera model.

Skipped Frames on MD/IVS/Alerts while recording to on-camera SD card

I agree would be great to get a fix on this. I am not sure why they Dahua can't just time stamp and color code the timeline of the continuous recordings when motion/IVS/alarm events occur, rather than creating a whole new file. That would seem to solve the dual recording problem. I guess that...

Skipped Frames on MD/IVS/Alerts while recording to on-camera SD card

I also may try and see what happens if I just record events alone and not continuously and events simultaneously on the same device. I want to see if the issue is in starting a new file while one is already active or whether the issue is in the recording of the event itself.

Skipped Frames on MD/IVS/Alerts while recording to on-camera SD card

@aristobrat @nayr @EMPIRETECANDY I know this has been discussed on the thread regarding the NVR. I just received my cameras the other day, I was doing some bench testing. I set up two cameras (IPC-HW5231e-z5) as LPR, I set up intrusion zones on one camera, and ordinary motion detection on the...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Bullet Z5 7-35mm (IPC-HFW5231E-Z5)

Do you mind posting what your settings are for this camera, and give me a sense of the location of the camera in relation to the direction of traffic? I recently bought a Z5, but I am having a hard time with capturing the plates at night. Many of the license plates are obscured by headlights...

Can you confirm that this firmware has the lpr software, and works with the darkfighter or lightfighter models? I reviewed the notes, but not entirely sure. I'd consider getting the cameras on aliexpress if the firmware can be had with the anpr built in. Thanks so much

Daisy chain or home run Cat 5e?

I need to run some new lines to add additional IP cams. It will require a lot of extra time and money to home run the lines back to my equipment room. Is it ok to Daisy chain the new lines to existing lines? I'm sure home running the new wire is best, but would be much more difficult . Thx.

    Help with motion detection IPC-HDW5231R-Z

Thanks. My cameras and nvr are OTW so I guess will have to live with problem until firmwarw fix. Do you know if one can store trigger events to the in camera SD card that I will add. If so, is there still frame drop with that? I imagine if there are no issues with the sd card storage and I can...

    Help with motion detection IPC-HDW5231R-Z

Thanks, Could one increase the number of iframes captured. So instead 1 per 20, go to 2 for 20 or 4 for 20, that seems like it would improve the siutation. Would this have other consequences with reducing compression and storage capacity, or cause other problems? (forgive the noob terminology)

    Help with motion detection IPC-HDW5231R-Z

Thanks. I have a question about the frame dropout. I've read through all the 52 and 42 series of posts that also reported the same issue. Do you think the frame drop out issues is a record issue, or a playback issue? Some of the posts on the threads seem to suggest it is a playback issue, others...
