Dahua 2017 International Product Catalog (Q1)

The 2MP 1/1.9 is better than the 3MP 1/2.8. But it is not so much better. It is not as simple as 1/1.9" vs 1/2.8". The 1/1.9" is the old non-starvis IMX185. The 1/2.8" is the much newer starvis IMX123.

Dahua Ultra 2mp Starlight, 6mp or 12mp camera?

It does not only depend on the sensor size. As I have said many times, the technique used in the sensor is just as important. The 1/1.9" 2MP sensor is a normal Exmor sensor. It is very good but old. The 1/1.8" 6MP sensor is a modern back-illuminated Exmor-R sensor. This technique is much more...

Hi Nayr, very nice. I'm looking forward to see your review. But such a sensor doesn't exist. It is the Sony IMX185 and this is not a starvis-sensor. ;-)

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Please distinguish sensor and camera. Dahua don't call this cams Starlight, thats right. The sensor itself is in the Sony starvis line, like the IMX291: The IMX291 has a back-illuminated structure with 2.9 µm-square unit pixel, the IMX178 has a back-illuminated structure with 2.4 µm-square...

Do you know the "5 MegaPixel 1/1,8" low light destroyer"-Thread? 5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90 I don't recommend this cheap cams from longse, the firmware is really bad and the reliability is not really good. But the sensor (Sony Exmor-R IMX178) is really good. You could try...

According to the tech spec the HFW8232 is little bit better, 0.002Lux vs. 0.005Lux. But, please buy the new HFW8231, because I'm very interested in the DOL-WDR. ;)
