Review- OEM IPC-T2831T-ZS 4k varifocal starlight turret & PFB203W Wall Bracket.

I wonder if that 2385 is the exact same model Andy sells. It definitely seems to outperform in that comparison.

Everything lol. Clarity, dynamic range, low light etc.

IPC-HDW5442T-ZE New cam from Dahua :)

IF ONLY this had a larger sensor. Even smaller sensor than the one on 2831 :( It feels like 8MP cams are either too expensive or gimped by tiny sensors to keep costs down. Guess we have to wait a few years before 8MP become cost effective and come with good sensors like 5442

Review- OEM IPC-T2831T-ZS 4k varifocal starlight turret & PFB203W Wall Bracket.

How would this compare to Hikvision 2385? That one has a larger 1/2" sensor instead of 1/2.7" and can do 20FPS vs 15FPS. Also 2x the bitrate. On paper it's better but does anyone know if it actually performs better ?

IPC-T2385G-I Hikvision 8MP fixed turret (night videos added)

Looking for a direct comparison with both fixed models. Not sure if anyone has tried both.

IPC-T2385G-I Hikvision 8MP fixed turret (night videos added)

@mech Do you have experience with dahua 2831 ? I want to get a 8MP 3.6/4mm but I cannot decide between 2831 or the slightly more expensive 2385

New 4K PTZ 20X Optical Zoom from Alptop - Surprisingly good camera at $329

Yup 329 down the drain imho. Could have picked up 2 nice 5442s for that price !

CBR / VBR Issues / wonkyness with 5442 and 2431. Anyone else seeing this ?

So I have been doing some testing and finding some very strange things. 2431. Both cams set to max (6144 Kbbs) max resolution max 20 FPS. Smart codec off, h.265 Using CBR it outputs bit above set bitrate (i-frames set to same as fps so keyframe every 1s) and functioning as intended. Using...

No kidding my eyes hurt just looking at that pic and I was already blinded by installing a motion light just now!

New 4K PTZ 20X Optical Zoom from Alptop - Surprisingly good camera at $329

No pictures / videos ? No detailed specs like sensor ? Honestly for a bit more money wouldn't it make sense to have something bit better.

Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus

Difference between 2MP and 4MP versions besides resolution ? How much are these btw. I may be interested. Do they come with mount ?

    Something better than IPC-HFW8232E-Z?

Turrets look cooler. Autoturret pew pew They also attract spiders less I feel. Been running my 2431 in B/W at night and no spiderwebs.

    IPC-T5442TM-AS , IPC-T5442T-ZE Latest new Firmware Volt V2.800.0000000.17.R.200620

What is smartIR and how should it be functioning exactly ?

Auto Maintain (auto reboot and auto delete old files)

Is this necessary for smooth operation in the long run ? I don't use SD so not sure what auto delete would do. Delete old firmware files ? Delete logs ? Would reboot daily / weekly help anything ?

    Lorex Camera System

Lorex uses solid copper cables. I wouldn't buy their NVR kits but I just got accepted for dealer pricing so maybe the cameras alone could be a good deal. I mean 1/1.8" sensor is a good sensor regardless of the resolution. I bet it will beat a cheap 2431 with 1/3" sensor and 8million pixels are...

Annke C800 vs Lorex E891AB for Onvif with BlueIRIS?

Yup I had already linked him the lorex cam and asked what's similar etc.

PSA: Lorex e891ab does have ONVIF support

E891 seems vastly superior specs wise. Larger sensor for one. I am actually VERY interested in this cam now. It ticks a lot of boxes for what I want in my 4th cam (overview placement needing 4K and extras like motion lights, intrusion based siren for night etc is all a big plus). Could the...

Annke C800 vs Lorex E891AB for Onvif with BlueIRIS?

The lorex is a dahua 1831 rebrand (with added 2 way audio?). Pretty good if you can get a good price since 1/1.8" sensor. Think it only comes in 2.8mm though Edit: Wait the e861 is a 1831 but this one seems different. Anyone know what OEM model it actually is ?

    Something better than IPC-HFW8232E-Z?

No mention of Hikvision? 2347 beats even 5442 because f/1.0 instead of f/1.6 on 5442 (although there is a new 1.0 version of 5442) That said it's bigger. Maybe more chance customs inspects it.

    Lorex Camera System

Question. Why would anyone to for a 2831 with it's smaller sensor over a 1831 with 1/1.8" sensor. At that price I feel this might be a good 4th cam for my system perhaps.
  25. W

    Lorex Camera System

Not really because that's just a rebranded 1831 which can probably be found cheaper.

REVIEW: Budget 4MP Turret Comparison - IPC-T2431T-AS vs Chinese HDW4433C-A

Just got my 2nd one. These cams are impressive BUT ONLY IF you have some lighting. They are vastly outclassed by 5442 no contest at night in low light condition as expected. One thing to note, somehow switching picture to SOFT tents to improve things a bit (or is it just artificial?) Also not...

    Lorex Camera System

They also have kits with 4/6/10/16 cams. Honestly if I didn't know duty for importing cams to Canada would be expensive, I might have gone for a lorex system with these cams. They are pretty well priced for dahua rebrands and available locally...

My UPS Caught Fire Last Night

Oh fuck I have 2 in this room... Cyberpower 1500 (more expensive Sinewave model) But both purchased in 2013. One on original batteries! Second one I just replaced batteries like 2 weeks ago. So far so good. Tbh anything can catch on fire. Freak accidents. I'll get a smoke detector for this...
