    Legit HikVision sellers (Canada)

I too would like to know. Andy sells some Hik but his prices are very high because each camera costs me min $25 duty on top (even the cheap 2431 cost me 25 duty each) not to mention the high price already because DHL. Would be nice to find a local Canadian supplier.

Could someone make a "PTZ for Noobs" tutorial?

What cams are those ? A thought, for the price of a PTZ you could place 2-3 more cams in strategic locations with a decent zoom (6mm or varifocal). Could cover both approaches from sidewalks that way.

Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus

Ah I see. Seeing how this is an older thread, is it still the best bang for the buck PTZ to get right now ? Also what happens if there are multiple targets to track. How would it know who to track. Can you set rules so it can prioritize? Is it possible for it to switch between targets...

    About i-frames...

Chill. I literally said daytime and said it's black and white at night. Obviously Starlight cams far better at night. I will likely be getting a 8MP 2831 or something and relocate my 5442 because I want higher daytime resolution of 4k for my high up birds eye overview cam. 4MP just isn't...

    Tease

OMG I was talking about this in a different thread how Hik ColorVu has a F1.0 instead of a F1.6 on Dahua 5442 so it is likely superior over the 5442 (which to my eyes it did look like it a bit on some reviews) Damn if I knew a F1.0 Dahua was coming I would have not ordered my 5442 and waited...

Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus

Why do they gimp such expensive PTZ cameras with tiny sensors.

Second no contest @bigredfish how high are these driveway 3.6mm cams mounted normally for 24/7 use not just testing. I am thinking about replacing my 5442 3.6mm mounted waaayy high up like 8+ feet high under sofit with a 4K for high resolution birds eye view during day and moving the 5442...

    About i-frames...

I said in daytime. I have nothing misconfigured. It's set to full res 20FPS same i-frame bitrate 8192. B800 just has a lot more pixels. 5442 can't magically increase its resolution to 4K

    About i-frames...

Tbh this isn't true for all. I installed 4 cam NVR system for a friend. 4x 4K cams (B800) Their daytime performance is far superior to my dahua 2431 and even 5442 Night time is actually very good too. You can ID at a pretty good distance for 2.8mm (or similar) although it is black and white...

    About i-frames...

What is the going wisdom around here for setting i-frame interval? As I understand i-frame is a full image aka full update and more frequently takes up more bandwidth. Are most of you setting i-frame at 2x the FPS (or higher?) or matching FPS or something different?

How the hell do I mount this 2431 ??

How long do these cameras typically last before dying. I was hoping they wouldn't die lol

How the hell do I mount this 2431 ??

It actually costs a lot ...... $110 cad +$25 Duty. $135 for each 2431 is what it costs me. Plus the $20 box.

    8MP Starlight+

How the hell do I mount this 2431 ??

Nevermind I'm dumb. It doesn't twist it just pushes sideways.

How the hell do I mount this 2431 ??

I can't twist it to lock or anything. This doesn't make sense. It's the cheap plastic 2431 from Andy.

How would I setup VPN if main router doesn't support it ?

Don't want new gear. I managed to get it working anyway. Running OpenVPN server on Milestone box. It works.

How would I setup VPN if main router doesn't support it ?

I don't want to buy more equipment though. I'm happy with Mesh wifi my ISP gives me for 5 CAD a month. Gonna try to run openvpn on this router or maybe something on the box itself.
