    Buying new cameras....which ones?

The approved support pole is hollow:} Just gotta get someone handy enough to make the bottom tray. Have any experience with a hikvision or dahua POE camera that works well as a LPR?

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

Its not just Karens... there are Kens too. First get the box the Karens specified NOW, modify it in the garage, test it, and set it aside. Im not that mechanically inclined. I messaged the person that made the one and asked if he would be willing to help me out on that. On the first night...

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

If the house is not built run Ethernet wires at all possible locations. Trust me, Im going to wire the crap out of this house. ============================================ 1) the front door needs three cameras, one doorbell camera, one pointing at the package drop area, one pointing back to...

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

My current house they threatened to pull out the nails as unnecessary due to the amount of Cat 5 that I put in. This new build I am using Cat 6 and I am installing all low volt. At least 4 per room, a den with 4 on each wall, and at least 8 where the TV is going. So yea, Im dropping cable...

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

I get that. I have cameras at 4 feet or so now. But the new construction will leave the eaves as the only viable place to install them. Here is the model.....

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

Id get a notice if vines crept up the post! The Karens have a lot of time on their hands. They specify what box I can use. https://www.amazon.com/Special-Lite-Traditional-Curbside-Mailbox/dp/B000FLWG2E/ref=sr_1_92?dchild=1&keywords=traditional+curbside+mailbox&qid=1608331352&s=hi&sr=1-92

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

Great idea, but the HOA has a specified mailbox and post to use. The Karens would see that extra bottom and go postal...... Maybe I can make it smaller since its gonna be POE powered... if the distance will work... .probably 30 feet or so. And I can find cameras good to work as LPRs...

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

Well construction is gonna take a year so there is time for everything to right itself. Maybe even get a great price if I give a 10% kickback to the "big guy" :) I will check out Dahua. I think I will have about a dozen cameras or so. Im using BI. Im also looking into the doorbell cams.

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

Thanks! Im a research a holic. I burn a hole in the internet before buying things. Its a single story house, and Im putting the outside cameras under the eaves. (motion activated floodlights as well) I wish I could get away with mounting cameras on my mailbox. Its a street side mailbox, but...

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

Thanks for all those replies, I have some reading to do. I guess I will only use dome cameras on the interior and likely a turret outside. The main things I see so far is to forget looking at the MPs and focus on the focal length. Since capturing the faces on anyone at night is important I...

    Buying new cameras....which ones?

I'm looking for advice on which model cameras to buy for my new home build. I am going the POE route. I think the ColorVu models will work best. I was going to use dome cameras inside and out for anesthetics but it appears they may not have the resolution I want for outdoors. The 8mp cameras...

    Mounting Hikvision cameras

Im not looking to make the cameras Ft Knox sturdy..... just want to have a secure install so that I dont have it coming loose years later. If I knew what size box worked best, I can plan on putting them in everywhere I am putting a camera. I hope the camera base conceals the full size of the box.

    Mounting Hikvision cameras

Placement isnt really my issue. Im trying to figure out the best and most secure way to mount the cameras? A standard one or two gang box? I round box? I can put in whatever I want to and I want to not have to just settle for "it works OK". I have one chance to get it set up the best way...

    Mounting Hikvision cameras

I will look at the turrets... which model is the one you use? Most will be on Ceilings, but I think there will be 4 or 6 on Soffits. Since its a new build, I can add whatever is needed for optimal mounting.

    Mounting Hikvision cameras

Im planning on building a new house. I want to use Hikvision POE cameras, and I will have both the dome version as well as the regular camera version, How are the bases of these set up? Would any certain electrical box be good for mounting them? THANKS
