Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

Yeah, probably the BI server at my Mom's house would be the best way to go, at least the least expensive way. I have BI running on my main PC at my place which I use for everything including email, Skype, DropBox, TeamViewer, FarCry 4, BI and much more. Besides monitoring the 5 cameras at my...

Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

I would have to replace her PC with one that would be able to handle BI. It's an older PC and I only have it there so that I can remote into it using TeamViewer to reboot the Comcast modem when there's a WiFi problem, which is rare. I also use her PC to do remote printing from my place. Four of...

Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

Yep, two of the cameras that I have mounted outside are old MJPEG Foscam 8910W's. It probably would be a good idea to upgrade them. Image quality is really crappy with those two cameras anyways. Might have to replace them with a couple of those cheap BeSafe cameras. I'd have to use power line...

Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

I forgot to mention that I'm streaming video from 5 IP cameras at my Mom's house to BI at my place. Two of the cameras are older VGA cameras (640 x 480), one camera is an older Dericam (1280 x720) and the two inside cameras are Hik 2432's running at (1280 x 720). I monitor the cameras 24x7. I...

Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

Received an email from Xfinity about the new data limit plan. They will be charging an extra $10 per 50GB block above the 1TB limit per month up to a $200 monthly overage charge. They're offering unlimited data for an extra $50 a month. In the email they claim the average monthly data usage at...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

I originally had mine installed on a vertical post outside, open to the weather. It was outside and was rained on often for about 9 months before I installed in inside the garage. Now it's installed on a vertical beam inside the garage.

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

I preferred the Dahua IPC-HDW4421C with a 2.8mm lens for my garage with the wider view. I sold my Besafe LBH24S200 but have another on order.

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

I purchased one of these in August 2015. It's been a pretty good camera to use in my garage. The seller that I purchased mine from has disappeared. Mine was $78.70 back in 2015. Here's a snapshot I took tonight.

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. Do you have your 'Sensor Linear WDR' set to "automatic"? There's also "Shutdown, Weak, Moderate, Strong & Super". The default setting was "Shutdown".

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

That indoor snapshot with the lights on was taken using a screenshot from BI. This night time capture was taken while the camera was running on a Anker battery and using a portable mini router so I could take it out on my deck without stringing cables. The snapshot was done with TinyCam Pro...

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

Has anyone noticed a slight purplish tint in the corners with the BeSafe camera? It's not a big deal but wondered if others have the same thing.

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

That's a good price for a i5 but I'll probably just sell her the Core2 Duo that I rebuilt for the cost of what I have into it which is probably less than $100. It has a 250GB SSD and a 500GB HDD and 8GB's of memory.

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

I don't have a PPC option in the older version of BI I'm running. Since I use Nvidia graphics, I decided to stay with BI v4.2.7.1 for now, hoping that Ken will eventually add HA support for Nvidia.

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

I think I'll try to talk her into buying a PC that I rebuilt recently by replacing the HDD with a SSD and updating the RAM to 8GB's. It's a Core2 Duo, but that should be fine using BI with a couple of cameras. I really don't want anything to do with her mac. :) Just ordered another BeSafe with...

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

Thanks for the links. I've worked with PC's since the mid 80's but never touched an Apple device, so know nothing about them and have no desire to own or use one. :-) I haven't tested the BeSafe outside yet. I set it up on my workbench a few days ago and took a BI snapshot with the lights off...

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

That's definitely a better deal. I paid $47.25 for the one that I purchased last month which included PoE. I'm planning on selling it to a friend of mine. I was going to set her up with BI, but then realized that she doesn't have a PC. She has a MAC. I wonder if there is any software similar to...

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

I haven't had the reboot problem with mine. I have it powered through its internal PoE. Does yours use internal PoE, external PoE or power adapters?

Don't buy cameras from huisun diretly

Recently got a WhatsApp msg from Monica. Guess she's still around selling for another company. This is her WhatsApp msg that I didn't reply to. Definitely won't do business with her again.

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

Mine failed when the temp hit 98 and had direct sun on it. My other two v1's and a v2 have been fine, but one is under my deck roof (with no sun), one is facing east (morning sun) and one facing west. The one that failed was facing south, so it had the heat from the sun most of the day.

Mine arrived today. Interface looks the same. Very easy to setup. Had it up and running in IE and BI in less than 5 minutes. Nice for the price. :)

Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

The main difference that I noticed was that an external PoE splitter was included with the camera since the Imporx v2 didn't include internal PoE. Seems to be about the same as my Huisun v1's except for the dark cover on the front of the camera. I may have to order another one to replace a Poker...

Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

The automatic scheduled presets in BI work with all of my PTZ cameras including the Imporx V2, Huisun V1's, Poker PTZ & Dahua PTZ. When I bought my Imporx V2 last June, it was $138.70. I noticed the price has increased to about $150.

Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

I have two of the ScareCrow motion activated sprinklers and a Orbit Yard Enforcer. I use one ScareCrow in the front and one in the back. The Orbit Enforcer is a spare that I haven't tried yet. I have both the ScareCrow's set to work only during the night. Don't want to soak the UPS or FedEx...

This is why I have the camera scheduled to automatically zoom in on my gate during the night. :)

Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

It's done automatic at sunset and sunrise using event schedule in BI. At sunset the camera zooms in to 8x (preset 3) on my gate and then at dawn, it zooms out to 1x (preset 1).

Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

I have my v2 set to zoom in (preset 3) on my front gate during the night and then to zoom back out (preset 1) for a wide view during the day, but it's all done through Blue Iris.

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

You might try ONVIF device manager. There's an option under 'maintenance' for a hard factory reset, although I've never tried it.

That's great that you got it working with the Chinese firmware. Did you go through the process of installing the OpenWRT firmware?
