Yeah, direct to disc is the best way to go with BI. I'm monitoring 22 local cameras and 14 remote cameras using BI. Favorite security software for my PC and Android tablets and phones. I'm hooked. :peaceful: -

Here's a link on upgrading the Chinese firmware to OpenWRT. It's not really a simple process. As klasipca mentioned, it does require some tech savvy. Since these routers are priced so low, I decided to buy one that was already converted. Great little router at a great price. -

This is the way I have mine set up. It's not connected to the internet. I'm using the Anker battery pack to power both the Xiaomi router and the camera using a power splitting cable. I haven't checked it out for maximum range yet but it does work from one end of my house to the other. It works... -

The two v1 cameras are powered with standard TP-Link PoE switches. The new Imporx is powered with a Trendnet PoE+ injector supplying power to the camera through the included PoE splitter. -

I've been happy with 2 out the three Huisun v1 cameras and so far also happy with the Imporx v2. Hopefully it will hold up better in the hot temps compared to the v1 that died on a hot day. -
