    I went with a VPN as suggested by Nayr. It works well. Not very cumbersome. One extra click even on my iPhone and I can access my entire remote network securely. I bought an Asus router for $90 that has a built in feature for it.

    I second his suggestion. They are great cameras. I have one myself and it works amazing. This one is weather proof. It does not need a dome around it. It is designed that way for better optics. Less plastic glare. The zoom capability is marvelous. Should come with the mount in the box.

    You have CAMERA MASKING selected. Do the same thing but select the next tab down that says MOTION DETECT. I've never made that mistake myself ever!!! Lies!! I did the same thing. Does that help you?

    No, there is a dongle with alarm in/out wires and mic. He probably wants to have the alarm wires further down incase he wants to use them at some point.
