    2.8 mm vs 3.6 mm IPC-T5442TM-AS

They will actually walk through the front door and the camera will be just above their heads above the door. The sidewalk is 10 - 15 yards long. Past that is lawn another 25 yds to a street that runs perpendicular. I may have to mask off the street to avoid tripping the camera.

    2.8 mm vs 3.6 mm IPC-T5442TM-AS

Due to the excellent advice at ipcamtalk.com in my search for the right camera to cover our playground, I picked the IPC B5442E ZE bullet and purchased from Andy (Amazon) and just finished the install yesterday. Great detail with it's 4MP which is twice the MP of the previous camera and because...

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

Great. Thank you. So much to learn and so little time to do it in and so easy for the uninitiated to make a mistake. I almost ordered the turret similar model because the specs looked almost the same and then I saw "wireless". Argg. So without further research I went ahead and ordered the...

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

On your 3rd recommendation, the 5442 Z4E I could not find a single YouTube video demonstrating that particular model and even when I go to Dahua's website I could find no meaning for the prefix letters or any of the letters after. This is what I think this model is may be, but is it? I see...

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

Thanks to all the helpful advice I think I've settled on this one. 4 MP Turret 5442 Z4E available from EmpireTech. My main concerns were that it works well with BI (being compliant to standards so Mainstream to Substream works) , and a Lens selection (4 mm) that would cover the center of...

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

I see that this camera specs states Varifocal ... motorized lens /12 optical Zoom ... Does in this case Optical Zoom mean the same as Varifocal? Or does it mean that if I set the focal length to 5 and should I need more that I can optical zoom up to 12 times? 5mm looks to be the lowest setting?

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

Ohh ... that's right. Good point. On a varifocal the point-of-view "target" would always be at the same spot unless you get on a ladder and turn the camera left or right but you can change the pre-sets from 2.8 - 12mm it seems. That kinds seems like zoom to me but I suppose presets might be a...

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

Ahhh .... Interesting. I will monitor that expecting to make the computer switch this next week. Ok .... I am studying and watching YouTube Videos on cameras and I am wondering if a varifocal like this would work? HDW2831T-ZS-S2 2.7~13.5mm 5X Motorized Varifocal Lens The center of...

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

Thank you for your response. Blue Iris 4.0. We are upgrading the BI Server computer so the intent was to make the switch over as easy as possible for now and save that for a later time. Not sure what you mean by "no single errors" but if it's the "554" ip appends it could be because all...

Replacement for a camera dropping frames

I have a SVC IP POE 1080P 2.8 - 12 MM that covers a playground but is missing recordings I think, because BI Status shows iframes as .20 so I'm looking for a replacement camera. BI is 4 and we are replacing it's current i5 2500 computer server with a Dell XPS 8940. The playground camera needs...

BI CPU utilization and number of processor cores

Thank you sir ... I appreciate. Is each individual ratio also shown in each camera "Properties/video" settings? I see that most of my sub streams are 50% .. and yep ... Reolink.

BI CPU utilization and number of processor cores

Hmmm ..... what program is generating these statistics? Within BI itself? It doesn't seem to be Blue Iris Tools.

FYI.... Follow up after my last supposedly "Follow Up". After replacing the 10/100 Switch with a new D-Link Switch my network was running like a clock. But then, a NEW problem erupted!!!! Or maybe it was there but I failed to see it. I must be paying for the sins of my youth. But ...

Blue Iris won't recognize Logitech Alert cams

Blue Iris won't recognize Logitech Alert cams

I'm thinking now then if it works on yours, that I may have a Registry problem .. I can remember a couple of earlier times that an update would have at 8 files uploaded and hang. Rebooting and retrying would solve the problem though. Weird. I've emailed BI Support to see what they suggest.

Blue Iris won't recognize Logitech Alert cams

Thanks Fenderman .... I'll do that. My thoughts were though, since I'm not paying for support (which is what I see in BI) I might not get an answer, but I think I've always gotten an answer before on the support email. Worth a try for sure.

Blue Iris won't recognize Logitech Alert cams

I can see the addresses now with Advanced IP Scanner and I can also load Logitech's software and see the cams and IP .... just not with BI. I don't think you can change the address in the Logitech's software. If so ... I have not found a way.
