    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

Shouldn't be an issue then but go through and turn off everything that isn't needed within the cameras. Ask also the 52xx has known issues with IVS...

Set your DNS to 1.0.0.1 and restart. See how it behaves then otherwise block it from the Internet and test.

    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

Use the latest Mod firmware from @cor35vet I've mirrored a copy here: Index of /DAHUA/MODFIRMWARE/EOS/ Either set your DNS to 1.0.0.1 or use your router to block it from talking to the Internet. (Even with false DNS entries, it still calls home to it's hard coded IP addresses for easy4ip even...

Nothing from that range bouncing off my Merakis, so I'd say it's just someone running nmap port scans via a compromised box, usual Internet background noise.

    DH-SD29204T-GN rebooting

Firmware was re-released on the 30 of Nov but wasn't posted pubically. Just waiting for Dahua to push out a 2017 firmware but I'd still recommend DNS sinkholing or preferably blocking it from being able to directly talk to the Internet due to hardcoded IPs that the camera calls home to. This...

Dahua latest stable firmware + Best Practice Reminder

Have been given access to the latest production firmware releases. These are provided to vendors as well as to support cases as they are considered STABLE/tested. I've uploaded the firmware library for the IPC, SD and NVR series. These can be found here: Index of /DAHUA/ Excel sheet in the...

Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231RN-Z not working :(

Because you are so excited I've uploaded the latest 100% stable firmware here for IPC-HDW5231R ONLY. This is the latest from the Official vendor support FTP, so it's stable rather then the beta that's been posted elsewhere. I'll see if I can get my hands on the latest alpha/beta firmware but...

Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231RN-Z not working :(

Tested firmware from 2016, it keeps reporting home even when disabled. Tested 2017 firmware, this respects being disabled and doesn't make an connection attempt. So in short, new firmware fixes this issue and I assume many others relating to security. I'll upload the new firmware when I get...

Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231RN-Z not working :(

Under connections, either P2P or sub menu in IP depending on the model. It's called Easy4IP with the Q-Code picture. I believe it's disabled by default on the newest firmware while the older firmware had it enabled by default.

Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231RN-Z not working :(

Problem is, the option has been turned off in the menu, so it should not be calling home at all. This is where the concern is.

Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231RN-Z not working :(

I just moved one of my starlights (older firmware) onto my unrestricted network and even with the hostname for smart4ip blocked, UPNP etc turned off, the little bugger was connecting to hard coded IPs, uploading it's serial, username and random password token while attempting to leave a constant...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

You won't be able to zoom with IR as it will flood the sensor with light. Colour mode should be ok but you will still have f/stop limitations.

Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231RN-Z not working :(

Reading through this thread was amusing. Can see a few issues here. 1, your cameras are talking to the Internet, either via DMZ/UPNP/Forwarded in the router. This will cause them to spaz out with many connection attempts especially if they have been breeched. Solution? Block them from talking...

Mmm, which is where you either need more light if you are in colour more or switch to B&W and go max power IR. Autotracking/auto focus etc need contrast to work, which WDR/light gain etc don't allow for as it causes the video to appear flat to the AF/AT processor which is gated after the image...

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z analog out

Curious, does anyone know what the connector is or have suggestions where I could get it? I believe it's a Micro JST connector but I've never seen them used for Video before. For a little side project of mine.

Load the largest mod firmware from this forum. Will allow you to manually set the IR aka max power. Then you want the shutter to be set to dark out the lights but still see the plates. :)

    Starlights and illumination

Once you adjust the settings for your location, they can see really well in low light. I'm just about to get some Turrets so will have the ability to compare the 4mp non-starlight turrets to the starlight ones. But this is my starlight bullet without any extra IR apart from it's own: The...

Good good, just checking as some of the cheaper switches people use struggle with 2 power hungry .AT devices. Re warranty shipping, thats why I suggested to test everything, as the RMA is going to be a pain, postage in the USA is certainly expensive, even compared with Australian couriers/post...

Just confirming that it's fed with PoE+ or via 24v? Could you pull it down and test with another network cable and power source, eg if you were using POE try the 24v brick or the other way around. Also test another switch port. Pocket loss usually suggests either layer 1-2 issues or the device...

Next best thing under 100$ to Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

If you have the area flooded with IR light and/or external lighting, then yes the cameras will look closely matched BUT the starlight would handle movement a lot better, you'll notice the 4mp will blur on fast motion in low light. If he is after low light performance on a budget, the...

    Is this a Starlight camera?

It's decent for longer range stuff but I wouldn't use it for up close. I suggest saving up a little and looking into the entry level starlight kit if total darkness performance is critical.
