Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

This is why you don't upgrade every time Dahua / dell / Cisco etc release a new firmware. :p Some times it's better to hang back a few. :)

Dahua Firmware Mod Kit + Modded Dahua Firmware

I turned it off. Haha I don't want or like easy4ip but yes you can get to it after the mod firmware is loaded. :)

Restart your camera once you make the changes. Then adjust further until you see the green box appear on moving objects. That's how I figured out my camera likes contrast.

I found auto tracking relies heavily on strong contrast levels. Try upping the exposure levels and then turn up the contrast. :)

Dahua Firmware Mod Kit + Modded Dahua Firmware

Just loaded General_IPC-HX4XXX-NAND-Eos_EngChnFraSpaRus_PN_Stream3_V2.420.0000.21.R.20160724.bin onto my toy HDBW4431R-ZS. No issues at all. Didn't even bother to reset it before hand. Uploaded via the web console, waited for it to restart after it successfully updated and logged straight back...

Always good to have it, just in case something shorts out.

    SD59xx0U-HNI Install Pics

Eh, I use punch down tools to terminate into a patch panel and then buy a shit load of pre-made short cables. The worse part is terminating on the camera end, always a struggle to get the connector perfect when you are up on a ladder. :p Everything data in Australia has to be ran in plastic...

How do you protect your cameras from storms?

I use smaller POE switches that have SPF uplinks and connect them back with fibre. If something takes a hit, damage is limited to a handful of cameras. :) Also earth everything. :)

Restart the Camera. I've found it re-learns on start up as well as re-applies settings.

not my video: live feed from wind tower

Have a small window of either too dark or too light. :p Won't hurt for 20 minutes either end of the day. Adjust it every few months.

    Dahua IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS - Buy Log / Review

Well if it's changed the IPs, you can log into them and change them back. If the NVR is on a different IP range it won't talk to it but will see them there. Let your router do DHCP from 192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.100 But statically set your cameras and NVR in their configurations. As I said...

    Dahua IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS - Buy Log / Review

Don't change the routers IP, just your computer so you can get to them. I suggest avoiding setting any camera or nvr to 192.168.1.108 so you don't have conflict issues. Set your first camera to 192.168.1.150, next camera to 151, 152 etc Set your NVR to 192.168.1.200 Set your router to...

    Dahua IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS - Buy Log / Review

In smart PSS, use the auto discover under device discovery. Also you cannot have 2 active devices sharing the same IP. Re the router, what do you mean via the web? Have you port forwarded the cameras or nvr? If so, delete the port forward/upnp/etc as that can break things with being attacked...

    Dahua IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS - Buy Log / Review

Yes, it will see the Camera Broadcasting it's IP. Take note of it, eg 10.1.1.50, change your LAN IP to 10.1.1.51, log into the camera and update the IP to your usual range, e.g 192.168.1.150 etc. Then put your computers LAN IP back to what ever it was before.

    Dahua IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS - Buy Log / Review

There is a premade firmware on the page, first port. Nano-eos for the hdbw model. Re the IP, it doesn't always go to 108. It can self assign via dhcp or I've seen the Chinese ones set to 10.1.1.x range. Use smart PSS to discover it's IP...

    Dahua IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS - Buy Log / Review

I still suggest using a power switch or injector and connecting them to your router. Restart your router before hand so it's dhcp leases are flushed. Isolate everything else from the network so it's just your PC, the router and the one camera. Use Smart PSS to auto discover the camera. Use...

    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

It's a Chinese market only camera with English hacked on but.... There is the firmware mod project here that addresses that with modded english firmware. Re IVS, yes it does have it, works extremely well surprisingly. If I was to get any more of the China Only Dahuas, it would be the HFW4431R-Z.

    Dahua 5231R-Z vs SD59225U-HNI WDR

I've also found power cycling the cameras after changing settings helps, the HNI some times needs a kick in the pants before it changes it's exposure mode. (Aperture/gain/etc) Could be a similar issue with the R-Z?
