    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

In response to my own post. I went ahead and upgraded to CPAI 2.6.2. Being able to choose to remove existing modules and only install LPR and YOLOv5 .NET made the install a lot easier. Unfortunately I've already seen BI report that the AI is not responding, followed by restarts of CPAI, so...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

I upgraded to CPAI 2.5.6 back on 3/17 and it hasn't been going very well. I started off running YOLOv5 6.2, but was getting slower response than I thought I should. I switched over to YOLOv5 .NET and things seemed to be better, but now several times a day BI complains about the AI not...

Optimized with substreams and now odd behavior

I have noticed that on my cameras that I've set up for dual-stream, in the BI console if I have set a playback speed above 2x, when I double-click on an alert the playback will very often start playback several minutes before or after the timestamp shown on the alert.

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

Hey @MikeLud1 Any idea when a YOLOv8 ipcam-animal custom model might be available? I've been wanting to give Object Detection (YOLOv8) a try, but am currently using the ipcam-animal custom model on a few of my cameras.

The following suggestion by user Jebus59 on the CPAI forum worked for me..

Updated to 2.5.6 and now things aren't working

I did follow the article that @wittaj linked prior to trying to install CPAI 2.5.6, but still ended up with the same ModuleNotFoundError for aiohttp. Uninstall and reinstall of ObjectDetectionYOLOv5-6.2 multiple times with "Do not use download cache" both enabled and disabled has yet to...

Dahua IPC-T5442TM-AS random "no signal" in Blue Iris

What version of Blue Iris are you on? I've discovered if I upgrade beyond 5.7.8.3 I start getting No Signal errors on about 6 or so of my cameras. I also get some weirdness on playback of clips where the alert image and its timestamp will show one thing, but playback of the clip will start at...

    An Awesome Camera

Thanks @cattlecreek, I'm seriously considering this camera. It's the only PTZ @EMPIRETECANDY lists on his website in the sub $1000 range that looks to provide the IR range and pixel density out to the 600-700 ft distances I'm looking for. With your targets of interest being 4-legged I...

@cattlecreek, would you mind posting a screenshot of the Setting>Information>Version tab? I'm curious to see what the latest version is now.

IPC-Color4K-T180 Intermittent 'No Signal' in BI

Maybe it's my imagination or wishful thinking, but enabling decoder compatibility mode on my T180s in BI seems to have also dramatically improved clip playback and scrubbing. I'm very interested to see whether that impression holds up over the next few days.

IPC-Color4K-T180 Intermittent 'No Signal' in BI

I have 3 of T-180s, and had recently noticed the video for them freezing in BI. There have been some significant changes in my environment recently, so there seemed to be many potential sources. Replaced Asus router with UniFi Dream Machine Pro. Moved all cameras to a newly created VLAN...

ALPR failed to find any plates...

Colorado. These guys are pretty common east of I-25, throughout New Mexico and Colorado, but I've even seen them up in the mountains above 8000' elevation hanging out in some of the rolling hills.

    IR for ALPR

I already had both the combiner/splitter and POE splitter on hand and wanted to see whether that combination of devices would work. The POE splitter I have is rated for 12VDC 2A output, which matches the input specs for my IR spotlight. I didn't want to count on being able to split that and...

    IR for ALPR

That's how I'm powering my LED spotlight. 2 POE+ switch ports combined and run over single CAT6 and then split back out to the separate POE+ female connectors on the Combiner/Splitter's Y-Connector. Plugged into the Y-Connector are a POE splitter and a POE camera. Nothing is plugged into the...

Ever caught a mole on camera ?

No, but I've caught a fox catch a mole (or maybe a vole). Does that count? :)

    Color4K-X 6mm FOV vs T5442T-ZE

One more pair of comparison pics... My camera post with the ZE compared to the post with the 4K-X. Fortunately I'm going more for deterrence than for subtlety. :)

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

To answer my own questions... When I saw that Andy had a Color4k-X in 6mm on his refurb list for $159 I jumped on it. After some tests I've run in response to the thread Color4K-X 6mm FOV vs T5442T-ZE I can say that the close focus doesn't look like its an issue for me, and sub-3ms exposure...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

I took the 3/4" plug out of the junction box and drilled a hole in the plug so I could mount a PG9 cable gland to the plug. My Cat-6 gel-filled direct bury cable is a little thick for a PG7.

    Color4K-X 6mm FOV vs T5442T-ZE

@Parley unfortunately I can't really do a side by side night comparison because to run both cameras for my day test I had to borrow the POE for my LP Cam's IR spotlight. After the comparison I removed the ZE for relocation to another area. With only a few actual captures from the 4k-x so far...

    Color4K-X 6mm FOV vs T5442T-ZE

On my IPC-T5442T-ZE (ZE) the zoom level of 1725 gives the same horizontal field of view as the IPC-Color4k-X 6 MM (4k-X). Today I temporarily mounted my new 4k-X 6mm below the existing ZE, centered them on the same spot of our dirt road, and placed an orange cone to mark the center of their...

    Color4K-X 6mm FOV vs T5442T-ZE

I'm planning on replacing a t5442t-ze with a 6mm color4k-x on Saturday. I'll see what I can do around capturing some comparison images. Give my your best estimate of the zoom level on the ZE that will match the 6mm FOV and I'll make sure to capture stills at that zoom level along with a few...

Constantly seeing no alerts in database - even after restoring via 'repair/regenerate'

I fought this problem from upgrading to version 5.6.6.1 on 3 Jan until I upgraded to 5.6.9.2 on 25 Jan and followed the upgrade by shutting down BI, deleting the db directory along with all of its contents, and then starting BI and letting it recreate the db directory. I have continued...

Basic cam info without logging in?

The Dahua configtool will scan the network and display info about the Dahua devices it finds. From the main screen you can select the cameras you want the info on and export the info to a spreadsheet.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

@Wildcat_1 after watching your youtube reviews of the color4k-x in 6mm I'm considering getting one as a replacement for a 5442T-ZE that I'm using in conjunction with a color4k-T180 to monitor vehicle and foot traffic on the dirt road that services our small development. The T180 makes a great...

What are my choices for fully-functional web browsers for Dahua cameras these days?

This is something I just tried out today that allows me run IE on my Windows 11 laptop. Open Notepad. Add the following single line of text... Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

It can and does occasionaly... BI only returns one of theses as the PLATE variable, but I would think that the JSON variable would have both results in it.

Are bullet cameras more prone to icing up than turret cameras?

That's pretty much my working theory. Maybe I'll pick up a cheap infrared thermometer gun and see what kinds of readings I get off of the 3 cameras.
