Here is mine when I select PTZ. I then have the option to move the cam by pressing on the actually live feed in the direction I want it to go. And pinching my fingers on the feed zooms.

Looks like @Franco25 is using iPhone and @messypotamia is on android. @Franco25, are you logged into iVMS as administrator? Were you able to control the PTZ on the other app ?

I honestly couldn't tell you. I don't mess with the PTZ function within the app.

What kind of video recording system do really large buildings use?

We have a few HikVision DS-96128NI-I24's. They record locally with about 70 cameras each. Max amount of storage in them.

I've heard bad things about Hik-Connect freezing when trying to steam the Main stream rather than the sub stream. Glad it worked out for you!

Actually it does look like I can move my ptz cams within the iVMS-4500 app. You just have to open the camera in single view and then hit the joystick icon this brings up different options along the bottom of the frame.

    Wireless Hikvision camera?

I believe there is already a wireless bridge installed, so I may just be able to plug into that and give the camera power through an outlet. In which case, I don't need a wireless camera.

    Wireless Hikvision camera?

I need two wireless cameras to add to an IP system. They don't need to be great quality, we just need to record each direction to know when the railroad company drops off cars. Any recommendations and is it seamless to add them to the NVR?

    Penny for your thoughts...

I had someone at the location clean off the camera yesterday afternoon. This is what it looked like last night. Looks like that was the major issue. I'm going to make sure they add cleaning this camera to their monthly sanitation list.

    Camera Auditing Policies?

I work for a company that has over all about 1000 cameras across 27 locations with 9 more locations on the docket for me to install 10+ at each location within the next few months. I've come across a few issues where footage was needed to be pulled from a NVR but the footage was unusable for...

Do POE Cams Have their Own IP Address (like my Wifi cams?)

He needs to access the cameras off the network, change the ip's, and then reconnect. Not just unplug the NVR.

Do POE Cams Have their Own IP Address (like my Wifi cams?)

To me it sounds like he hasn't changed the IP to any of the cameras. Which means IP conflict regardless.

Do POE Cams Have their Own IP Address (like my Wifi cams?)

I'd probably start with resetting the camera. Also, if you have the POE switch.. Unplug it from the network, plug the camera and your pc into the switch, then try to connect to the web interface of the camera. If you can't, then it's a camera issue rather than NVR. This is assuming the brand...

Do POE Cams Have their Own IP Address (like my Wifi cams?)

Brad, can you get to the cameras browser interface by opening internet explorer and typing in the IP address?
  23. C

Do POE Cams Have their Own IP Address (like my Wifi cams?)

My recommendation is to connect your pc and the camera to a switch that's not on your network. Then change your IP to the same subnet as the camera and change the cam IP before plugging it into your network. This gives you a chance to change the password and everything prior to sticking it on...

    Penny for your thoughts...

I'm actually thinking they can slide that light down the pole and shoot it straight under the truck. The lights actually used to see product coming out of the trailer and into a pit. If we do that, it might fix the lighting issue pretty easily.
  25. C

    Penny for your thoughts...

It is a truck scale. And we don't need it for truck/trailer info, just incidents such as property damage. (which we had the other night but the footage was useless). I'm not sure if that light is intentionally off or if it's just out of order. But that one would definitely be an issue to address...

    Penny for your thoughts...

We would be losing quite a bit of area if we were to lower it enough so that the light is out of the frame. I am going to ask if they can raise the light on the pole then tilt the cam a little bit. Or even putting a shield on the camera side of the light might make a pretty significant...

It’s a HikVision bullet. Usually when I hang them I put quite a bit of silicon around any cracks or crevasses in the camera and mount just to play it safe. This one was installed by someone else so I’m not sure if received the royal treatment. I’m going to keep an eye on it the next few nights...
