New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Incidentally, I saw a wiki somewhere (can't find it now) about collected links for DB1 (and its variants). Thought I'd add some more info: a) If you want to connect this camera to ZoneMinder, the settings are: a.1) General->Source Type -> FFMPEG a.2) Source->SourcePath ->...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

@David L thank you so much for the follow up. So it looks like based on the diagram, a single power kit can handle both chimes! Unfortunately, I don't think I can do that wiring as all the wiring runs inside our walls so I can't really rewire them to connect F to T between the chimes as shown...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

No problem. Okay, so I now have: a) A 24V 30VA transformer b) EZViz DB1 fuse connected to the one of the wires that lead to the DB1 (connected to transformer side, not bell side, due to space) c) One chime bypassed (wires connected together) d) One chime active, with the EZViz power kit and no...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Thanks Part I completed without chimes. Fuse was installed at the transformer output (no space at DB end). Hasn't blown yet. Question on chime: I am going to connect one. Should I use both the resistor (just got it) AND the power damper kit?

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Hi @David L 1. It looks like I have 3 sets of wires coming out of my transformer. Please see first picture 2. Please see my "Part I" diagram. This is what I plan to do today. Can you comment if this is ok? (especially location of DB1 fuse) 3. Please see my "Part 2" diagram - this is when I...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

@DavidL, @concord's diagram is exactly how mine is supposed to be wired. I tried to install the power kit inside the basement chime as well as the first floor chime aexactly as shown above in the diagram, both buzzed. So right now I'm trying to take it one step at a time a) Disconnect chimes...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Okay thanks: so to summarize/answer David's Qs: 1. Yes, I have a mechanical chime 2. The buzzing occurs even after I installed the power kit 3. My 120V goes to the transformer in the basement. That one transformer splits two low voltage wire sets to by basement chime and my first floor chime...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Okay, so I looked at the wiring diagram at the start of the thread too. Here is what I plan to do: 1. My 10ohm resistors will arrive on sunday, so for now, I've disconnected both chimes (by disconnect, I mean front and trans wires are separated) 2. My EZVIZ DB1 is installed without the big fuse...

Oh! You've put the EZ viz supplied fuse right at the transformer junction? I thought that was provided to protect the doorbell itself. In my case ,the darn doorbell is fine - keeps blowing my transformer(s).

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Thanks, if I may ask a few more basic questions: (I am in the US) 1. The 10 ohms resistor seems to be what I need to add between the front and trans of the chime. But if I just disable the chime for now, and put in a 24V 30VA transformer is that sufficient for now? 2. When I do enable the...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Hi, for those who use the EZViz DB1, a few questions: 1. What rating transformer finally worked? I've replaced my old transformer with a 16V and it blew after a few seconds of operation. Will 24V work? 2. For now, I've disconnected the chimes (due to buzzing). I'll try adding the 10ohm resistor...

Dec 2020 - Comparison of RTSP Doorbells

Oh that is interesting. I had assumed DoorBird would be rock solid. I'll have to research this forum to read more on its issues. The problem I have with Dbell is the application processor seems to shut down every few days in summer (the bell function continues to work) - my doorbell faces the...

Dec 2020 - Comparison of RTSP Doorbells

Yes DBell is actively being sold. I bought mine from their website. The company doesn’t seem to do a great job with cleaning up old links. When I spoke to them I was told they stopped selling via homedepot/etc years ago.

Dec 2020 - Comparison of RTSP Doorbells

Hi, new subscriber to this forum. I'd like to add 2 additional doorbells (did not see it in this list) a) DBell - WiFI+RTSP. I use it with ZoneMinder. FYI see this post on my setup for face recognition along with this device. b) DoorBird - also WiFi+RTSP. Double++ the cost, but possibly better...
