    BI recordings are skipping

I'm running into an issue on my system where BI is recording properly but appears to "Lag" in the recordings until it falls behind and every 5 minutes "Skips" ahead to the current view and I'm trying to troubleshoot why. System: Xeon L5639 x2 CPU's 48GB of RAM K2200 GPU 2x 1GB Ethernet bonded...

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

For me and the lorex's it was the fact that ONVIF was broken in the lorex firmware, IVS was neutered, plugins were a hassle and it did not have day/night profile support. There were a few image quality issues but I think I got those resolved now and over all it is much more stable and workable

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

Your welcome Gabe, if you haven't make sure to do a FULL factory reset (including network) as at least with the lorex there are remainders of the lorex config still left in the camera, I tried just a reset (keeping network information) and found it still caused issues later on. Enjoy and see...

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

Ok last thing I can think of, I found on Dahua's site: DH_SD-Mao-Rhea_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_IVS_V2.623.0000000.7.R.181124 and the partition structure exactly matches yours. As I suspected between 2.623 and 2.800 there was a partition resizing. As a baby step, try converting to that firmware...

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

The other post where it says no access is normal, it's attempting to write success.txt back to the tftp server, one person did say they had a similar issue and had to make a blank success.txt file for it to work, maybe give that a try? (I've never needed it myself). The commands look right, but...

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

Did you try relik's solution and replace "run pd" with "tftp 0x02000000 pd-x.squashfs.img"? Looking at the output I am inclined to think your partition map is corrupted, partition only shows dev/mtdblock8 when it should look something like this: I'm not sure if it's a copy/paste error...

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

As far as I know "failed to load bootTargsParametersV22.txt" is expected behavior (at least with my lorex camera's) but if you dig around in the BIN files (Maybe not every version) there is a bootargsparametersV22.txt file in them, not 100% how to upload but you can use the relevant section for...

Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP

Have you made sure you have both the tx and rx feeds connected to the right leads? In my camera I wouldn't get a response with just the rx connected and gibberish or nothing if the tx was on the wrong pad. Does the lens open and close right on power on or how long after power is applied?

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

Thought I would post an update here, I have updated 4 more camera's (Minus bootloaders) directly from the Lorex firmware to 2.800.14 without issue, S.O.P. was start fresh from stock, update to 2.800.14, do a complete factory reset and setup from from there. I tried some other versions of...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

It's mostly about having an unsigned boot loader, even 2.622 has a signed boot loader so you can't modify the file system (like enable telnet) or downgrade a version (Lowest I can go now is 2.800.0, I can't go to 2.622 or 2.420) Even run da doesn't work because flwrite checks the signature...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

Glad to here it's working for you, Do you find an image quality difference between stock Lorex and 2.800? for me the camera is more green tinged at night and alot more grain. i'm still at a loss of how to get sf write to work, I'm starting to suspect it's been disabled :S without that I'm at...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

Everything is stored in the partition, if you can find out what partition is corrupted it can be restored, have you tired a factory reset? sometimes the lorex config seems to boot loop. Another cause which might be the case but I would do as the last resort is I've heard some talk of the kernel...

Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP

Is SF write disabled in the latest firmware? I'm not able to use it, it just keep kicking me back the syntax even though it's correct (sf write 0x200000 0x80000 0x40000)

I'm at a bit of a loss now... Sf write and SF protect don't seem to work, they just take me back to the syntex help explanation. I'm wondering if those commands are disabled, if they are I'm at a dead end

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

Ok I I have (I think) pulled a complete dump of the stock firmware, I still need to "extract" it from the console logs but by enabling logging of the serial console and running the below memory display commands I can extract the firmware in hex format and split into the proper files. Trickiest...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

Wow that is so interesting, I've never had to actually send a success.txt file or a failure.txt file, wonder if was something in that specific loader build? I will have to keep it in mind as it always to me was just a status prompt to say if it failed or succeeded. Thanks for the info

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

The whole commands.txt file format didn't work well, only captured some of the data. Tomorrow I'm aiming to try another method of capturing the contents. It's not really a problem as I need it for myself as well and I want to have a backup image of the firmware. Once I have the raw dump I...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

I'm not sure which version the signed bootloader started with but if I'm able to get a copy off my lorex I'll try another camera with the 2.460 firmware. I would try another TFTP server perhaps, but the script may not work for you either with the stock camera as the stock lorex firmware I have...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

I use the OpenTFTPServerMT tool that is on the site here, under the Bin folder there is OpenTFTPServerMT.ini and within it you need to change: [TFTP-OPTIONS] timeout=300 read=Y to [TFTP-OPTIONS] timeout=300 read=Y write=Y overwrite=Y to enable uploading to the tftp server from the camera

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

I wrote this script to dump the memory contents from my 2.80 firmware device, just put in your commands.txt file Now I will see if there is a way I can daisy chain the boot loader, boot unsecured from flash, load the updated bootloader into memory from tftp (without flashing) and then boot...

Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP

So i found I can read the image with SF read 0x0200000 [Memorytoread] [lenghttoread] and on new bootloaders I can upload via tftp with a put, but it doesn't work on older boot loaders, anyway to get that info back over serial?

well I'm not sure if I've done something wrong, I used to get serial output and now I just get garbage.... I want to go back on the boot loader as the new ones have a signed firmware which means you can't go down a version if you want too (such as I would like to try 2.622 again as 2.800 has...

Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP

I'm on my mobile so sorry if the text or spelling is bad. You may be better off not being able to upgrade over the web interface as turns out that updates the bootloader to need signed images. I'm not familiar with Serial as I'm waiting on a adapter to use, from the log it looks like it's already entered the boot loaded which is why you don't get the stop autoboot prompt (Means tftp over ethernet should still work) but a few things in the console do stand out: Downloading: * Retry...
