Okay it just happened again. "No record host" for all of January 13 (It's the 13th here in the US, the 14th in Australia). I was viewing footage from the 13th yesterday without any problem at all. Oh I think I might have just answered my own question from scanning the specs: "Pan:0˚~360˚; Tilt:0˚~78˚; Rotation:0˚~360˚" Confirmation? I'm guessing there is a bracket to suit for a vertical mount? -

Can I mount this on a vertical surface and rotate it down? If so, is the rotation limited to 90 degrees? If no, is it really not designed to be mounted like that, e.g. will gunk collect in the pivot points or is it more likely for the weather to affect the glass? -

Rebooting is not a problem. It's working fine now, but I lost that one day. I can play "into" the day, but not select random points on that day and start playing. No major issue, but again, nothing from HikVision.- cosmo

Update: I tried rebooting the NVR. Still nothing viewable from the 11th. When I selected the option to download footage from the 11th, there is an 891MB file which I can download (Although I won't. It will take forever over a remote ASDL connection from Australia to my VM in the US). So worst...- cosmo

Update: This morning I checked Dyn and all 5 hosts have been updated. So it seems my first initial post was premature. I'm not sure whether the IP addresses have changed, which I suspect would have prompted the HikVision NVR and camera to update the host, or whether it was just a matter of time... -

Okay I finally did get it working with Method 2. Gmail was blocking it. You gotta fiddle with the settings in Gmail. Say it's okay for the unknown device that just tried to log in, to log in. To allow devices to log in etc. It's not particularly clear. I kept plugging away, clicking at OK, OK... -

Yes. Windows 7 with WebComponents running in a VM under Linux. I never got HikVision video to work properly in Linux. On my HikVision NVR, none of the video worked because WebComponents was required and good luck getting that working on Linux. This is still correct as of the latest 3.4.91... -

Yep. Just did it 10 minutes ago. Upgraded from 3.4.2 to 3.4.91. Thankfully the NVR rebooted. It did ask me to upgrade WebComponents, which I did without a problem. My HikVision cameras are recognized. The timeline still shows continuous recording on the top line in blue with no motion in red... -
